Two of my favorite Hongkong singers. But I don't know since when (in fact I know it's been going on for a long time) all Cantopop songs, without exception, don't care about one basic thing about music, above all pop music - the melody. Yes, the musical arrangement can be fantastic. The mood and the ambiance of the song can be fantastic too. And of course the performance of Anthony Wong and Shirley Kwan is impeccable. But without a recognizable and memorable melody, the song will simply not be recognizable and memorable. In one month, no one will even remember these two fantastic singers having sung this song. What has happened to simple song-writing? Recently, i came across some old songs (in the 80s) performed by the band Raidas. I can't believe how good those songs are - the melodies are instantly memorable even if you just hear them for the first time, and the lyrics of all the songs are simply amazing. I know it's a cliché to criticize Hongkong's pop music industry. But those criticisms are really valid. Contemporary Cantopop songs are terrible, even if they are performed the top-notch singers.

Well said. I know that this is not a typical song for a TV series, and I also appreciate the song writer trying something new. But the melody is simply difficult to memorize. One word: flat.

The MV is tastefully done- the clever use of light and shadow exudes the darker mood of the story. The music score may not be the usual TV track that you are accustomed to but I take it as a soundtrack and not necessarily as a Cantopop. It complements a story that underpins the complexity of love/human relationships. Indeed, it's about time to introduce music scores that are more cinematic to the small screen. Two of my favorite vocalists - Anthony looks fabulous and Shirley's velvet voice is forever captivating. Kudos to the production team!
