with lovecraft having the... proclivities that he did, this type of music was probably the most terrifying for him. straight up horror music

Lovecraft didn't even care much for classical music. Some of this he would have stomached but not a lot of the Boohicky type jazz of the time.

Because the roots of jazz are in blues and ragtime, which both also originated among black communities in america, and were in turn based on African American spiritual music and ballads???
