Can ye guys suggest some good noir novels to read??? Or movie noir to watch?
@bartstewart864429 күн бұрын
@@Dave.Mustaine.Is.Genius The grandmaster of noir fiction was Raymond Chandler. I think it was all he wrote, so try any of his novels. Dashiell Hammett wrote The Maltese Falcon, and others. (The Bogart movie of that one could be your first Noir movie to check out. Then maybe Bogart in The Big Sleep.) Other movies would be the original versions of Double Indemnity, and The Killers (with Burt Lancaster.) John D MacDonald was an author in the 1960s who had a hell of a series of novels about his detective, Travis McGee. The British had some great noir, including the movie They Made Me a Fugitive, and a series of novels called the Lovejoy Mysteries.

The cold air tickles the inside of my body as I breathe in deeply knowing this is the start of another 8 hour night shift. My hands sit in my pockets to prevent the sting of the freezing cold outside as I was dumb enough to leave my gloves at her place again.. sometimes I think she doesnt even want me around. maybe i did it on purpose.. subconciously. Leaving them to have an excuse to return. It wasnt just one sided love ofcourse. I could tell something was up with her. The people she knew, she trusted, she kept safe.. they're the ones I was really after.. Atleast thats what I kept telling myself. The reality is that I'd have taken any case that had her involved. My mind can't let go of her. The slight curve of her lips when she smiles. The small dimples in her cheeks from piercings she got as a teenager. Even the smell of her perfume was so encoded into my brain.. can't be healthy.. So who better to take this job than me? I'll make sure she's proven innocent.. even if she wasn't.. Call me the selective detective.. atleast for tonight.
