Finally? Nah, this year specifically Prannoy have always push Axelsen to the limit and I tell you what, this isn't the first time he beat Axelsen this year. I mean we have some players who are able to compete Axelsen here and there but they're not consistent enough as Axelsen to rival the no.1 spot. Another player I'd like to spot is Vitidsarn but we'll see about him and maybe LZJ if he fix his attitude and keeps his mouth shut. That's a big if.

Axelsen has a habit which after he plays a net shot, he tends to move backwards before the opponent plays a shot to prepare for a smash, that means if another player is wiling to take a risk and play another net shot back, axelsen will not be infront of the net to kill the ball, and the other player will have the chance to attack

There were few instances where he backed up to the net but Prannoy just lifted the shuttle to the back court and he was left chasing, that's why he was wary of doing that. You can see him lose a point @ 4:12 because of backing up to the net.

Prannoy's superb net play and very solid defence got him this win. Axelsen could not get through him and he started to doubt himself - this is his only real weakness.

This was Momotas bread and butter. Excellent defence with net play which is why he held a huge advantage over Axelsen. Been saying it for time now. Net play is the way to beat Axelsen. His net play has come leaps and bounds but he still struggles when someone controls the net really well.

Viktor made so many unforced errors... if you've seen him play, this rarely happens, but this especially happens on home soil. He said he was uneasy. Prannoy played very well, sure he also had a few errors. From this performance there could not be any other outcome, but Viktor will be back on top when he is back to his normal self again.

Not quite. Prannoy has been an uncomfortable player for Viktor to face. And in this match, Prannoy read Viktor's attack really well and cause Viktor to feel uncomfortable which is why he made mistakes. The same when Ng Tze Yong beat Axelsen. Viktor is very consistent, but if a player can mess up his rhythm and make him uncomfortable then he will start making errors.

​@@gwstwsyou know it's 'unforced' error right, the name say itself so Axelsen is the one making that solely. There was a easy lift that all Axelsen need to do is jumping smash and he hit that to the net, can't say Prannoy forced him anything in that situation. As usual with most Axelsen defeats in the past 2 years, either injury or he himself play worse than usual by a large margin. The last time Axelsen play good and still lose because his opponent play insanely better can be dated back to 2019-202.

Victor has had an insane level for the last 3 years, dominating, but theres only one playstyle that makes him challenged, which is Prannoys. Prannoy plays it very well, but its not the playstyle to challenge as many as Victors. So until i see him win the Olympics, World Championships, or multiple super 1000’s, i dont see him being the champion

...it was a good performance by HSP. But Axelsen seemed very, very flustered by not being in a position where he could impose himself with smashes. ....and then in the third game VA was almost ludicrously tense; what I mean is that he committed unforced errors you don't often see from the top-level pros, much less the thus far dominant No 1.... too bad, it wasn't very attractive watching....
