Dear model railway / railroad friends,
In this video I would like to bring you closer to my conversion from a Roco Taurus to a professional dummy with switchable lighting and sound.
I bought a new Roco 70518 - BR182 MRCE Taurus in the analogue version.
This was actually quite cheap in the summer sale for 175 euros.
It takes a certain effort to unpack a brand new locomotive and then completely disassemble it. It is also sometimes not that easy to get the gearbox out of the bogie, but I will show you all that in the video.
I will also briefly go into why a normal dummy would now be ready and what I mean by the term professional dummy.
An ESU 58210 Loksound 5 FX function decoder is installed. This is recorded with the appropriate Taurus sound from the ESU homepage and via the locomotive programmer.
Then I solder a DSS - i.e. a digital interface according to NEM 652 - into the locomotive,
carefully lay the cables, the decoder and the speaker.
A first test also shows that the sound works, in a 2nd test I show you how the lighting is switched separately using function keys.
Then the black MRCE BR182 becomes an ÖBB RH 1116 - simply by exchanging the buffer skirt and the housing. This works with all Roco Taurus locomotives of the BR 182, Rh 1016 and RH 1116 series which have a Plux 22 interface,
Or among themselves all with Nem 652 interface - you just have to stay in a series from Roco.
For me this means that by changing the housing I can use the professional dummy in over 10 color variants.
Last but not least, I bring you the bet variants,
how I will use the professional dummy in more detail.
This is done in combination with a normally powered Roco RH 1293 Vectron:
1, variant as a train locomotive in double traction
2 variant as a lead locomotive
3, variant as a pushing locomotive
I wish you a lot of fun with the video
Greetings Hans

Who am I or who are we?
The MoBa manufactory actually consists of only two people, namely me...
My name is Hans and I am 40 years old and from my wife Alicia (23 years young).
For me, the model railway is a hobby, a passion with which I like to spend my free time. This hobby is practiced within the time and financial framework available to me (in addition to being a husband, owning a home with a garden, owning a forest and my work as a project manager).
In my videos I also show exactly that... I'm not a professional and have my own views and methods on how I build my model railways and pursue my hobby.
And that's exactly what I like, it somehow sets me apart from the mainstream and drives me!
