FADEC fuel control... love it. Hit start and you’re at ground idle.

Do you wait until a specific oil temp. and oil pressure before you go from idle to flight?

No. The manual does state however that you have to wait until the oil temp reaches 0'C before applying power. So if its SUPER cold, you might have to wait a few minutes before you can take off

Is that company procedure to skip W/LGHT, FIRE, and HYD tests on inter-flight startups? Not something I've seen before or experienced during my time in a Squirrel. Other than that, good quality footage and straight to the point.

not sure what you mean by skip... not sure what an interflight start up is either... hyd checks are normally only done for the first flight of the day if thtt answers your question

​@@UpsideDownWash "Inter-flight startup" is referring to one that is not the first flight of the day. I'm asking as there is only one "Start-up procedure" listed in the RFM (in this case for the B3e) - I've never seen someone skip the hyd / w.lght / fire checks, even if they've done the checks on a flight 10 minutes before. I was wondering if your company procedures specified a different startup from that found in the RFM, akin to the turnaround checks vs. the pre-flight checks.

aaah now i see. i forgot there were to startups in this vid. but no it is not company policy. hyd checks are done only on the first of the day though. w/l and fire i just did not do

Very interesting Video! Did you learn another Profession before you becam a Pilot?! or do you think it makes sense to learn another Profession before the CPL(H) if you become unfit for flight?

Well depends what you mean by makes sense. I know a lot of pilots that did other stuff before they started flying. I did not do anything else before i became a pilot. Also of course it helps with the money because the education is expensive. I can not really answer your question, but one thing is for sure, if you have a job before you start as a pilot you will have skills that are not learned in this profession, and most likely it will help you and it almost deffinetly won't hurt.

I mean when you are a pilot and you don't have another job before you can't fly helicopters anymore of health reasons, so you don't have another job to get money and you first have to do another profession. So what s your opinion? It is better to have a second mainstay ( how we say in German) if this happens?

Hey man, awesome vid, thanks! Do you know the story with the h125 and if they’re all b3+ or b3e etc it’s confusing the hell out of me. This is an e right?

Thanks:) yes what is now called the H125 is technically the AS350 B3e. The main difference between the b3+ and the B3e is the engine. The B3e has the Arriel 2D engine and the b3+ has the Arriel 2b1 engine. After eurocopter was sold and made into AIRBUS helicopters, they just called it H125. If you wanna get suuuper technical the B3e and b3+ are just nicknames. The name in the manual is b3 with 2b1 engine and b3 with 2d engine. But that takes a while to say

i noticed something i have not ever seen in other videos with helicopters you moved a Velcro cover next to the seat... through the Plexiglas one can see the ground... is this a veiw to see the ground when landing or spotting something

yeah that is the sling window. not so useful for landing, but used for slingloading almost exclusivly.
