Do you know if I can use nippon racing type s pistons with my stock h22a1 connecting rods? Or do I need to purchase the type s rods as well?

Yes you can even though H22a1 rods is a press fit. It's up to you if you want to use a forged rods or take your h22a1 rod to a machine shop and hone ut to axccept a free float piston.

@@sagittnet2158 Yeah, I'm taking my time. I've already got the crankshaft in and girdle on so I'm getting there. Now waiting on my oem seal and gasket to arrive so i start installing balance shaft and oil pump. I'm planning on using the old oil pump what's your thoughts on that?

@@Open90 That's good to know, l've been using the oil pump that the block came with. Oe oil pump is good, you can open it and do some inspection w/ a feeler gauge. Are you still using your b/s or you have it deleted?

@@sagittnet2158 No, I'm keeping the balance shaft. Also, I'm going turbo so don't need to. I'll just clean up the old oil pump, replace the seals and use it. Thanks

@@Open90 it's better to use b/s in my opinion unless you use a aftermarket damper if b/s is deleted. Later man!
