I always enjoy your content! It’s been at least 45 years ago that my Dad and I drilled our last well . We had a 6 cylinder gas (1945 ) rig on an old Mac truck frame. We lived on a 600 acre Farm and we used that rig to drill wells for family and friends and many other wells on local farms . Those were the days that you could still do what you wanted to do , and what you needed to do on your own land . Gone are the days . Now you need permission or a permit to blink your eyes of take a breath on your own property? We appreciate your knowledge and the time you take to make the videos.

😂❤ This answered my question I had never asked 😊 I assume the plastic cupping was threaded inside to go on the pipe.. so basically it is a slip cupping and the glue works as a gasket and binder. But this does bring up a question… have you ever had a well that would not seat??🤔 is that why some well drillers will pull their casing back out and then order readymix delivered and fill with cement and I a few days go back an drill through the cement an then put their casing back down the hole. I don’t know but I was told drill through the cement’s was like drilling through butter 🤷🏻♂️ But seriously THANK YOU!! I know these are time consuming to do but it is also so educational at the same time! 🫂

Super cool to watch the process, it’s interesting to see how all the different parts play into making a functional and sustainable well! On a second note, I wish I could get about 50lbs of that dark red clay! My uncle hand fires pottery (he’s a bit of a hippie😂) and I bet that stuff would make an amazing mix for what he likes, we can’t get that out here in the desert south west

Enjoy these videos not being that familiar with the technology, I would enjoy a short video with a cross section diagram of a well hole with the components and labels of the components and the terminology in drillers terms that goes with them just some food for thought ie : like the bottom of the casing we bottomed out success for your future .

Is there a “standard” diameter? Most of your videos have 6” pipe, but some, I believe, have 8”. I’m wanting to have a well drilled on my land, before I build a house. (Estimated to be 150-200 foot.) I’d like to have a Bisen hand pump and an electric submersible pump. I’m wondering if 8” pipe Would be better. Thanks!
@h2omechanicАй бұрын
@stilltuckered 6" pipe is industry standard. If you install a Bison hand pump (i love them by the way) id recommend using a Grundfos 3" pump , they'll both fit in a 6" bore no problem. We've done a dozen or so like that

What is the point on putting glue and primer on the metal pipe and plastic to metal adapter.
@PelicanIslandLabsАй бұрын
Primer and glue softens the plastic which allows it to bond to the metal.
@Shortys411Ай бұрын
Bur does it actually bond them together? Pretty sure that’s not on the label of the glue lol
@رافدرائعАй бұрын
Make sure that the drill pipe is straight after connecting it together, there is no deviation or twisting in it. She is the cause of a problem. Good luck
@Doubie.Ай бұрын
You would probably be better off with an adhesive pdr pad and a slide sledge that way you don’t damage the coating or heat the metal
