Great safety points! I work at a Wastewater plant with large digesters but take some things for granted (we have gas meters, active ventilation, and just don’t hang out in there). I’m wanting to build my own and hope to UT it someday. Cheers!

I wonder if allowing the gases to fill the inner tube unbubbled then in a another process squeezing the unbubbled gas in the inner tube through a bubbler into another innertube would produce a filtered gas at a more productive rate. I wonder. It's possible you would ultimately end up with the same amount of filtered gas per interval of time but it would be an interesting experiment to see if the lower pressure in the tank indeed facilitates production.

Also filtering it in a second process by squeezing would conceivably allow you to use a higher volume of water in your filter if your concerned about getting it cleaner or clean enough for long term engine use.. conceivably you could push it through an aerator or air stone at the bottom of your bubbler as well. I am not sure but I think I remember seeing someone adding a small amount of clorine bleach to the water to facilitate the process as well, although your tap water may already have enough as a reading of 0 seems pretty good. I like that idea. I'm starting to think i might be leaking from a uni seal and it didn't matter until i put a little pressure on it. It's hard to tell right now because I'm not making much gas in the cold. Thank you for the idea though. That gives me another idea too... I could pass it through the filters that way a dozen times or more and then get that gas tested to know if this would ever work.

ferst tanks!! great videos 🙏🙏 wanted to say it's wired that the bubble filter "slowed production" I think it may mean thers a Gas leak that the extra pressure from the bubble filter is causing more gas to exist, that's if nothing else changd since you installed the filter.

Thank you for the comment. And you are absolutely correct. I did find that it was leaking at about 2psi from one of the uniseals. I would have thought they would be good well beyond that pressure.

is your waste value always closed? I was thinking 6" into the barrel seemed not enough? Any videos I've watched seem to be showing the waste going half way down. what / how much are you feeding the digester?

Yes I keep both inlet and outlet valves closed all the time so any pressure will have to come out the gas outlet. I’m feeding it mostly kitchen scraps. Banana/avocado/potato peels.
