I hope you enjoyed hearing a little bit of my thought process trying to modify the wallback! I know this video was sorta technical, so hopefully it all made sense xD Let me know if you enjoyed and I'll definitely make more videos like this! Also, if you have any ideas to improve this trick, I'd love to hear them!

Maybe 🤔 You should’ve use Small To Large Dominoes or your Field Starters as Small To Large Dominoes incase one ☝🏽 of your Domino Walls might Work
@bluewhalestudioblenderanim11323 жыл бұрын
I think ALTERNATING WALL is a BAD IDEA for this technique because it reqiures a Lot taller wall to actualy work (normal wall needs only 10 tall But alternative Needs 18) and the chance of failure is a lot Higher especialy at the start overall alternative wall just seems worse idea for this technique than the normal wall sure it Can work but it's a less likely to work
@bluewhalestudioblenderanim11323 жыл бұрын
@Cheung Andy The Wither Storm it's the stupid ALTERNATIVE wall the alternative wall is Much more likely to fail when there's something on top like a flat barrier why not try changing THAT ???

Hey Lily, I think the answer kind of lies in mathematics of triangles. A triangle is strongest near the angles and less strong near the midpoints of each line. Maybe the barrier strength should be graded or a bell curve toward the mid point of the line... But I'm not the Domino expert in this convo
@dogeridoo74073 жыл бұрын
Imagine this: There's a giant version of this in the center of a setup, and the setup is divided into however many sections. Once each section is done, a layer of the slanted wallback is toppled by that section and then the next section begins. When the final layer falls, something is revealed behind it that wasn't visible from the filming angle. I don't know what that thing could be, but it could make for a cool setup!

@carlantaya1753 жыл бұрын
To me you've proven that there has to be a way to make it work. It's just a matter of finding the trick. There was a difference with between test 4 and 5 looks like the white dominos you had on top was the key difference in the way it fell. Especially the string connection.

This is a super interesting video - I particularly liked the way you explained how a domino pyramid falls at 6:48. It was also fun to see how you found solutions to each problem and then find solutions to the problems that they cause. It must have been annoying how throughout the video how all the dominoes you don’t want to topple, topple, but the ones you do want to topple don’t topple 😂 You have a lot of patience because I would probably have given up after 3, lol. I wish I could suggest an idea to make this trick work but I think it just isn’t possible. The only things I can thing of is to change the way you make the barrier, try using mini dominoes, or to find a way to reverse gravity for the second half of the wall🤪

That was kinda cool. Making a new trick is very difficult for me too honestly. Well anyways, great to see your efforts. Well... uh... I have a question. When you have like no ideas for a new setup, so...this might make no sense but... do you get bored with no ideas like me or just... find some ideas? I'm like... idea-less right now so I need ideas somehow. I just passed 18 months of building dominoes and it's getting kinda boring now after 12 months really (don't feel bad please). I'm so excited to see the results! I hope it comes soon. Have fun building! ❤

What about making the barrier thicker? As if there were two thin beginning sections instead of just one? Maybe if the top layer of the barrier failed, the bottom one could still protect the middle section from falling?
@kenilinokenilino50608 ай бұрын
use a very long plank but leave some space at the top to activate the second half

You might try using a high speed camera so that you can do your analysis on slow motion.
@Ishan.mahindrakar3 жыл бұрын
I think that the barrier line should be made of dominoes joined in the shape the of the barrier line so that it can be stiffer the now, but I think that will look a kind of ugly after the structure falls... Or, The size of dominoes should be small used in the wall which falls first and the wall which falls next should be made of normal or big sized dominoes, so that the small dominoes will not be able to trigger the wall made of normal or big sized dominoes...
@happylittletrees66853 жыл бұрын

It seems kind if impossible to make it perfect and hide the barriers at the same time. Its also a gamble if the barriers work and thats really sad. BUT there has to be a way. Don't give up! @dominooverlord10623 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I really don’t think there is much you can do to improve it. I mean, you could tape it (which is basically cheating) or build the structure shorter but after seeing that the barriers worked twice in a row and and then break down on the next test, I am convinced it is mostly just a matter of luck. And it doesn’t seem like anyone else has ideas either. But keep trying and I know you’ll get it.

What audacity you did with these tests... a good domino builder always does new things and never gives up on achieving the impossible in possible by doing tricks like the slanted backwall, the problem with this trick is that you have to calculate the amount dominoes for the barrier because you may put more dominoes on the barrier, but what can happen is that the barrier is very large and impossible for the entire wall to fall... so good try Lily! ☺️👍
