The supernatural stuff is still present, its just that it always happen near the place of mass tragedy and death or where the old law of nature doesnt apply anymore like place where anomalies are common. Such as the lone island in Volga level and Novosibirsk.

The first and second games have explicitly stated that these supernatural phenomenon are real and even being integral to the game plot. River of fate didn't have any radiation hotspot, same with the catacomb in the church of the rangers. You say most are caused by the dark ones? How about the red square or Great door? Those two were caused by something else and the dark ones had to save you either physically or mentally. How about the Ghost at Volga island? Radiation is destructive, its likely to roast your brain first than subtly manipulate brain biochemistry.

I literally finished this gem of a game with a good ending today. Throughout the game, I was worried about Anna dying but I failed to even consider that Miller would make the ultimate sacrifice so that both Artyom and Anna can live the life that they deserve. This final music and that ending sequence in general brought me to tears. Seeing our crew rush in to aid Artyom gave me all kinds of chills. And that ending scene where every crew member sits by our bedside either worried sick or giving blood while we talk to Miller in the afterlife and bid him farewell just brought a rush of emotions. It was all executed splendidly to say the least. I just wanted to see what the bad ending looked like. I'm glad all that punching and knocking out payed out in the end. But I feel so sorry for Anna here in this ending since she loses her father and the love of her life. Her voice actress did a terrific job voicing her especially capturing her emotions and love for Artyom.

I thought I would get the bad ending on taiga valley. Because when I had to sneak and steal the boat I had to kill one of the pirates as he saw me even though I was in the shadows. I think getting the good ending means punching people and doing missions stealthily, as I read the journal about that section of the game afterwards and it said I stealthed that part and did not cause any deaths lol.

Happy I got the good ending on my first playthrough, the goodbye with Miller was very touching. But damn this bad ending was something else. I was sad that we spent the entire game with zero mention of Khan, but I had no idea the only way to see him again was to get the bad ending. I'll be intentionally killing everyone on my second playthrough to get this ending, but I'm going to feel extra terrible about it. Kind of wish we could have seen Uhlman, too. Also Dead City might be my favorite level along with Taiga. Real nice callback to the first game and made everything super creepy and tense.

I think the firing of the guns for the salute shows how much everyone owed Artyom. From the very start of Metro 2033 you are told to conserve ammo. Don't waste a single shot. Not a single one. This has been drilled into every metro-dweller for 20 years. And when Artyom dies, they are willing to break that rule.

Most immersive and incredible game i've played. The driving part at the end gives me shivers. Together with that music wow! In this game i actually feel a connection with Anna and a strong will to save her. I just completed it for a 2nd time. I got the bad ending both times and its the one I prefer. Also the section in kazakhstan (the caspian) is incredible. I loved Gul's character and her story. When damir decided to stay with his people and send artyom off, it's really emotional and epic.

Avoid bloodshed wherever possible, don't shoot anyone who doesn't have a red icon when you aim at them, etc. Don't shoot the cultists, slaves, or forest people and the characters will survive. All you need is 2/3 but it's not hard to let everyone live Just reload a save if you see the screen flash dark, cause that means you got negative karma, vs flashing bright which is good karma

In the books exhibition station gets overrun by mutants while artyom is away, Eugene isn’t in the book if i remember correctly but i assume he dies in the defense of exhibition. I just got this ending and it’s so depressing, especially since I tried to be morally good after The Volga. As a newcomer to the series it’s so frustrating that you have to be so careful about who you kill. I didn’t learn about the morality system before it was too late, which just makes it so much worse.. Somehow the bad ending is a very fitting end to what has been a brutal journey through the post apocalyptic wasteland.. but man it’s depressing..

I don't think this is the canon ending. I got the good ending where Artyom, Duke, Damir and Alyosha are in one piece and it's implied that Artyom is going back to Moscow to get everyone to come to the habitable zone at Lake Baikal as there's enough room.

@@urospodgorsek1531 whenever you get the ending where Artyom dies, it's not the real ending. These are the real endings of all the games. Metro 2033: the Dark Ones get bombed. Metro Last Light: the Dark One stop you from blowing yourself up, so you live. Metro Exodus: everyone lives, and Miller dies only.

I literally played through the game a third time, specifically to get this ending, because it turned out there was an achievement for it. I've 100%'d the game now in terms of achievements but, fuck, I had to play the entire game again the day after because I felt so shitty getting this ending, especially purposely. The only thing I like about it was seeing Bourbon again, I absolutely fucking LOVE that guy.

I love that this game actually had real consequences to being good/bad, the good ending really feels emotional and fulfilling, it actually feels like all your hardship pays off etc whilst the bad ending actually feels painful and punishing. Great game series, Exodus was a terrific wrap up and I like the series waay better than the books! Characters are treated better and the ending is much nicer

All you have to do is complete two out of the three big main levels without a crew member leaving. So basically, Volga, Caspian or Taiga. Also, make sure you get the guitar and teddy in the Volga. That's it, that's all you need. Trust me, it's a lot easier to do than Metro 2033 or Last Light.

i played on ranger hardcore, my first playthrough, on the swamp level i went into rampage mode and committed mass genocide killing anything that could breathe because i died so many times trying to sneak. but aside from that i sneaked past every level and only knocked out enemies, i never killed them because until the last 2 levels i didnt know how to kill an enemy sneakily so i just "E"'d everyone i guess that helped alot so my morality was probably so high that even when i extinguished everyone in the swamp level i still had morality left so i got the good ending. and i also freed the slaves, guitar and teddy bear

Wait, one thing doesn’t make sense here. Khan says “you cannot stop this train, or get off it.” But Miller clearly stops the train and Artyom gets off. This could have been something interesting they could have pulled off. Like if you are In between good and bad, you are given a final test in the afterlife that determines if you live or die. This maybe something the writers ignored but I guess it doesn’t matter since Artyom is dead and buried anyway.

After getting the bad ending in last light I remember starting this run doing as much good as possible. No killing, saving people, and even refused to drink or smoke after Ana’s story about her parents past. From the moment she started coughing I just knew the *bad ending* was her dying. so every action I took, every shot to kill, I thought is this even ethical? To give even more credit to the game devs. Unlike last light this run had some immediate consequences as well. After the bridge fight I got the achievement “duke survives.” Knowing my actions in each zone could possibly kill my teammates also added just that little extra pressure. It wasn’t just mine and Anna’s future together, but all of there’s. It wasn’t hard tbf. Listening in to NPC dialogue was enough to humanize most to the point I couldn’t kill even if I needed to. For others, like slavers or the cannibals I felt easy with slaying. I hadn’t expected this to be the bad ending though, jeez that’s so much worse than I thought. Sure she survives but then you get hit with the guilt of selfishly leaving her by herself…dang. The metro games really know how to wrap up their games.
