the tough thing for both of them is to try to tackle each other since they are similar in size. They have to exert a lot of energy to balance themselves and tackle someone who's big. Combine that with running and VvD needs to work his hardest just to keep up w Håland and also put enough force in his tackles. Håland can focus on just keeping his balance and the ball.
