Farmers protest against the Regional Council in France

Farmers in Dijon, France protested against the Regional Council. Hundreds of farmers gathered in front of the Regional Council with more than 80 tractors to protest against delays in the payment of European subsidies. Across the country, farmers continue to protest against agricultural policies and high taxes.

Because of subsidies food is cheap in the shops for everybody to enjoy. If you start to withdraw subsidies, there’s going to be a transactional period where the farmers cannot manage and a lot of them will go bust after that food will go up . For example, a litre of milk costs four times the amount than a litre of beer, but the retail price of milk is four times cheaper than a litre of beer. That’s how subsidies work so we don’t go hungry you pay money it takes your choice
