Mr. Peanut, or SCP 173, had a redesign. Technically, there is no 'canon' look to it anymore, because the original artwork/statue is copyrighted. I remember this game years ago, and yes it did cost ten bucks then. Methinks the dev team had to be told SCP is in the Creative Commons so charging money for their game was actually illegal. The SCPs in the game are all original creations not on the actual wiki, most likely to try and avoid the Creative Commons license which doesn't seem to have worked. E: okay yes I am aware now the actual reason is the devs corrupted hard drive you can stop telling me now
@Agt_Seven9 ай бұрын
The creative commons thing could still be part of it, but on the steam page it says that they stopped charging for it because development and support for the game has been completely abandoned after the project files got corrupted, and the dev didn't want to charge people for something that would never be finished or polished to the level they wanted

for works under the creative commons 3.0 license (which SCP uses), you are allowed to "copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially." ie, if people were willing to buy it, you could straight up copy/paste articles from the scp website into an ebook, and sell that.

The reason why the game says is released is because the developer put it out of early access. But the reason it doesn't seem fully done is because the solo developers hard drive got corrupted with all the game files and couldn't work on project anymore. They said it didn't feel right for people to pay for a game that will never release. If you want to see what they said specifically you can check the news for the game on steam.

To clear things up: Surrival and Story mode used to be different, but he was kinda merging them together. He lost his hardrive, thus no more updates as he lost all files, also why its now free. He didnt use wiki scps because he wanted to create his own unquie version of SCP. Too bad the SCP comminity hates the game for no good reason, which made him also not want to update the game more often. Its the best SCP Game BECAUSE it uses unquie scps, he can do what he wants with them.

you have no idea how envy iam right now. ive been watching your channel for over a year now. since 2019, i wanted to get into vr and in january of this month it finally happend. i feel in love with it, the 38 year old man writing this, had the same sensation he had as a 12 year old boy in christmas.. i didnt think the adult me was capable of feeling THAT kind of awe and wonder again, yet vr brought that back. my wife found it to be cool, but not live changing so to speak. so we got ourself a valve index, had 2 weeks of fun, untill her dog decided to freak out after my wife played alyx and was beeing extremly tense during gameplay. since that day, the dog is going haywire if you so much as touch the headset, whins, barks, scratches the floor when you have it on. the dog is in real distress. you cant enjoy gaming with a whining dog in the background. my wife stopped playing vr for good due to that and wants me to stop to, since its cleary stress for the dog, and to give up something in order to not stress the dog is the only way to go for her. so iam at an impass, enjoy vr as good as i can with the dog barking etc and risk fights with my wife, or move out, lose my wife in order to enjoy vr. and i hate the situation because every option ends with me beeing the loser. and the typical ways of other people dealing with a problem like that dont work for us. we cant look the dog out, its a one room loft. we cant lock the dog into the bathroom (the only door we have) since in my wifes eyes, its punishing and she starts whining. and playing vr, isnt a 20 min sesssion for me, so the dog would be locked away for 2-3 hours. its a 4th floor apartment, so no garden where you can put the dog in. so its basically waiting untill the dog dies, which could be 6 years (shes 10)
