Today I will discuss my absolute favorite perfume - Guerlain's habit rouge. A perfume that smells like a Victorian era aristocrat like Dorian Gray

love this scent too, initially, I detected almond and powderiness, but as I got used to it the sweetness became perfectly balanced, I was really surprised that the label says its a masculine fragrance, to me its absolutely unisex. Refined leather subtly blends into rose, sweet but not in a feminine way, elegant and classic without being overpowering. The most fascinating part of this scent for me is the dry-down(also longevity), some describe it as sweet dust, and your vivid description of walking into an old furniture shop perfectly captures it, a beautifully crafted painting.

The sweet dust description always makes sense with this one haha. One of the best classics and I agree, it is more of a unisex scent. Though when you compare it to a lot of modern masculine scents (especially designer) this one doesn’t even seem that sweet haha (i am thinking of armani with you series, mm by the fireplace etc)

Interesting video. I wear Habit Rouge too sometimes (as a woman) because it is more versatile than Shalimar, which Habit Rouge was based on. Have you tried Shalimar? I can totally see Dorian Gray wearing Habit Rouge - that was a good description. I have subscribed because I like the long form way you have of describing scents!

Thank you for subscribing, I have heard that Habit Rouge was based of Shalimar! Don’t think I ever tried that one, but definitely looking forward to. From Guerlain I tried most of aqua allegoria line. Bergamote Calabria is one of my favourite citrus scents.

And I am trying to make the videos more interesting! A lot of reviews don’t really describe the scent, just the written notes and I find that those notes are not always very distinct?

@DmitrysPerfume They are just selling stuff and it feels impersonal and dishonest almost.

Nice description. I’m still in my first month of owning and wearing the edt, and I’m slowly understanding it with each wear. After owning the EDP for a year, which took me months to really understand, the EDT’s opening took me by surprise. I don’t think I had pictured the lemon to be what it is, and then assumed it would be persistent, but wearing it in the spring I’ve seen that it really settles and all of the other facets come out to play
