The OG Habit Rouge is from 1965. It smells very much of it's time. I'm 50, and that scent smells too mature for even me. The Rouge Prive & the Parfum modernize the formula enough for me to enjoy and appreciate both, but I can completely understand that they're not for everyone. Cheers to you for being open mined enough to give both of them a fair shot. Can't win them all.

This is not a modern gourmand. It's more OG A*men gourmand. Unfortunately its no where near as good as A*men. I just wasn't impressed with Habit Rouge Parfum.

Just goes to show exactly how subjective this hobby is. Some people love that old school gentlemanly Barber shop style scent profile, while others despise it and think it comes off too Grandpa-ish. Good thing there are so many different styles in fragrance that there is generally something for everyone.

Vintage Habit Rouge EDT......MASTERPIECE. On my "forever list". I also have an 90's bottle of EDT...which comes close. I own a bottle of 00's EDP...not "as" good as the EDT IMHO. I have Habit Rouge L'Eau which is a "lighter/brighter" take on the EDT...also good. Was not too keen on buying the Prive. However...LOL...I will gladly buy your Habit Rouge Parfum from you...if you decide to sell it !!!!!! Have you ever tried habit Rougr L'Intinct...???? I can get it at a great price right now...like $35.....I just might !!! I have heard that Habit Rouge DressCode was fabulous (discontinued and $$$$$$$).....4 versions: OG..2016/2017/2018. (WTF?). I would pick one of those up someday/somehow. They also made an Habit Rouge Extrait in 2008.....NOT available anywhere. Peace/Love/Respect

As far as privee I didn't love it as much early on ether. But that's changed I've grown to enjoy it alot actually after pulling for more wears and trying it in more situations.

Randy, I was waiting for this one. As you know, I'm considering purchasing. I had a feeling you wouldn't like it as it's not your style. It's old school French perfumery with a modern twist. I too was expecting it to be a bit more gourmand, so that's a bit disappointing. I appreciate the Habit Rouge line but have slight reservations about this one as I already own the Privee. I'm now inclined to hold off for a few months. I may also consider L'homme Ideal Parfum instead.

Habit Rouge parfum is incredible if you like the dna. I have all of them, rouge privee included which is really nice. The parfum is the ultimate iteration. If you like habit rouge generally, you'll love the parfum. My two cents.

I didn’t like it either. The prive version was a bit better but but still not bottle worthy. Bummer. Ideal should try to come out with a legit goumand. It’s really the only thing missing in the line
