Love it. Suggestion for next time - put the temp in relative units Kelvin. So Earth is +0K, Trappist I-d is +3K, another planet would be -29K etc. That would make it consistent with the radius and mass measurements being relative to Earth. Edit: you know what else might be cool, the relative gravity at the surface of each planet.

There is reason to speculate 'superearth' type exo-planets are common actually, look at the research. And I think the OP used a calculator to arrive at the surface gravity, which I did too and found many to be with a gravity of 3-5 that of Earth. Unless the mass estimates are significantly off this seems to be the case.
@user-xl8hk2nm9g
@user-xl8hk2nm9g 3 жыл бұрын
I cross checked the masses of some of these planets, and they are indeed often overestimated by a factor of 2 or more in some cases. In one case the mass was correct but the radius was 30% smaller, resulting again in overestimated density by a factor of perhaps 3. Otherwise a very good video.

The planet Kepler-298d wouldnt have 30G, because its mass is spread out over a greater volume. If its 30 times the mass of the Earth, then its gravity would be about 4.8g. But even this is unlikely, and its mass is probably more around 7 times Earth's which would make its gravity just 1.12g. That's not much higher than what you're experiencing right now.

Most of them have a gravitational acceleration of more than 3g, as calculated from their masses and their radii squared shown in this video. I don't think most of us can withstand being pulled by more than 3 times our terrestrial weight down to the ground and still perform everyday tasks.
