A version of this lecture was delivered on 16 Oct 2023 as part of the “Professor Rounds series, organized by the Dept of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. It is an overview on setting up task and knowledge management systems to optimize personal productivity, based on my own experiences and preferences.
For a long time now, I have used David Allen’s Getting Things Done (GTD) framework for task management. I’m currently experimenting withTiago Forte’s Building A Second Brain (BASB) approach (fortelabs.com/#) + various note-taking strategies as a knowledge management system.
