i come here because you r a diehard HABS fan. now that all of the pieces are in place, next year should be real interesting. we will be much improved and perchance on the cusp of a playoff spot. then the year after demidov arrives. we will have an amazing top six that is cheaper than the top 3 on many other teams. our defence will be in place and stacked and montambault will be in his prime. here we go....

I can't get over how Montreal gets the #2 best player in the draft at #5. During the draft lottery, we heard Chicago won the 2nd lottery. Friday, we learned that Montreal actually won the 2nd best pick. Wow.

Монреаль выиграл весь драфт, Селебрини переоценен, такое чувство, что если бы сборная России была допущена на прошедший молодежный чемпионат мира, то Демидова поставили б на 1 место, он бы разорвал тот молодежный чемпионат мира
@user-ii3bu7jm7xАй бұрын

Have you ever watched Demidov???? Demidov does not get bullied like at all he’s also really hard to hit he almost never gets caught not paying attention… Also Demidov is Almost 6’1 and already 192 pounds lmao he can take care of him self… He was also an impact player in their playoff run and his team winning the championship before he got hurt… Demidov is almost the same Size as Conor Mcdavid, He’s bigger then Kucherov, Bigger than Newhook and Suzuki in height…

Not Generational…. Borderline Franchise is his potential, I see Slaf Being close to Rantanen who is a franchise player, Demidov I see being a mix of Kucherov and Datsyuk… Kucherov is not generational but he’s a franchise cornerstone, I see Slaf and Demidov’s as Montreal’s franchise cornerstone players…

Fun times spent sharing the first round with you, Paul, John and your very special guest....the one, the only, the legend, Annik L from the good ole days at Habs Tonight. I was a bit late to the live show but I enjoyed spending it with you all. Now, as for that Demidov pick DrewDekes front flip dive...Paris Olympics, here he comes! Anyways, as for the Habs picks Round 1, RW Ivan Demidov (Russian) 6' 192lbs Lefthanded & C Michael Hage (Canadian) 6'1" 190lbs Righthanded. Round 3, C Aatos Koivu (Finnish) 6' 170lbs R & C Logan Sawyer (Canadian) 6'1" 174lbs L. Round 4, D Owen Protz (Canadian) 6'1" 214lbs L. Round 5, RW Tyler Thorpe (Canadian) 6'4" 194lbs R & G Mikus Vecvanags (Latvian) 6'3" 159lbs L. Round 6, C Ben Merrill (USA) 6'4" 194lbs R. Round 7, RW Makar Khanin (Russian) 6' 161lbs R & D Rasmus Bergqvist (Swedish) 6'2" 181lbs L. A nice geographic mix but notice not one player under 6', and many right-handed Centers/Forwards. Unfortunate no players from the Q but alas, the experts did mention the quality&quantity of Q players this year was low...but you know the Quebec media will pounce on this one as they usually do....blah blah blah. But let's face facts, getting the human highlight reel Demidov was huge for this organization, and I think 99.9% of Hab fans are immediately (Michkov who?) Demidov fans so the future continues to look bright. Go Habs Goooooooals!!!
@viper29caАй бұрын
Not from the Q, but apparently Mikus Vecvanags will be playing in Blaineville next season.
@daveh1180Ай бұрын
@@viper29ca Yes, I just saw the Martin Lapointe/Nick Bobrov post-draft presser. I found it interesting to hear Lapointe mention in the 6th round, they wanted to draft someone from the Q but he was taken before their pick. So I just checked and if my sleuthing is correct, they wanted to draft 5'8" RW Justin Poirier, Baie-Comeau (who was drafted in the late 5th round by the Hurricanes). No matter...expect to see at least a few Q player invites to Habs rookie camp, plus additional Q free agent signings for the AHL Rocket and the ECHL Lions.

3:43 if they were targetting him specifically, the pick jump-up trade is a very odd one to make before the draft actually plays out. Nothing against Michael Hage, but the Habs probably handful of players on their list and they were banking on one of them still being available at 21. Go habs go

If you become a fan of the Montreal Canadiens then we will talk more with you. You should do research on Montreal Canadiens- they are easily the greatest team in the history of the National Hockey League. Montreal has won 24 Stanley Cups - almost twice as many as the next closest team. San Jose has not won 1 single Cup yet.

Really don't think Zegras is a good idea. He's like the only player the Ducks have drafted under 6'2 in ages. Our top-6 is too tiny to compete with that in the playoffs.
@moussamohsenzadeh9311Ай бұрын
Good evening sir, would you agree that the Montreal Canadiens really need to practice some magic and do their best to get, via an exchange, Berkley Catton and Sam Dickinson ? I think the natural destination of these two super great players is an original six team, the oldest of all, the Montreal Canadiens. San Jose Sharks is a peripheral team of the NHL, in a city that does not seem to bear any sense of grandeur and classical aesthetics and have long seen past its real chances at winning the Stanley Cup. With these two, then, and ONLY THEN, Montreal '' will be complete '' (to paraphrase Darth Vader at the end of The Return of the Jedi).

I am most aggressively not a Montreal fan but they had the best draft of any team, they benefitted from Russian fear just like Philadelphia did with michkov. And they get hage. Well done Montreal. Feel like Chicago was bad. Trading up to get boisvert who they could have had with the 20 pick seems ludicrous, and then they do it again with vanacker.... They lost assets trading for both of those picks to draft those 2 guys. And then of course having the worst forwards in the NHL, scoring the lowest goal total 179 in 82 games and then passing on both Demidov and eiserman...yea bad draft.

I can’t believe it! For the last two months I convinced myself and other fans that there’s no way in hell demidov would be available ! How lucky ! We can thank Sennecke and Levshunov for that! The thing about Sennecke is that the ducks have been drafting extremely well over the passed 5 years so the odds are this guy will turn into a beast. The steals in that draft were unreal, Silayev 10th😂😂😂 demidov 5th? Eiserman 20th! And the steal of the draft I think was Helenius . I think when we looked back some teams will wish they went a different way
@glaframbАй бұрын
To be honest they could had select Aatos Koivu with the next to last pick of the draft. He will probably will never played in Montréal specially if you look on what is coming to Montréal in the next 10 years.

Sorry but this year we are gonna suck again ! We will be back in the higher draft again. Demidov will not play this year , Michael Hage neither and i don't believe the habs will running after free agents to pay over the price for some over the hill free agent specially there is a lot of teams that are looking for a quick fix.
