Hutson is why we *have to* keep Xhekaj in our lineup. The one thing Hutson has to be avoid is getting lined up and crushed by some Patrick Maroon/Ryan Reaves type. Xhekaj will keep the opposition honest.

I don't think these guys have a chance at all to hit him or even grabbing his puck but yeah, he'll be a target in the playoffs... That's what kept Hughes from purely dominating in the last series

Habs have Suzuki, Dach, Evans and soon to come Hage, Beck and Kapanen. All are bigger and have excelled. The only negative is that they are all right-handed. Therefore Habs do not need another right-handed centre and especially at 5'7".

Its not only the height counts, you can be 6 ft 7 and skinny and weak. There are couple of habs players who are 6ft and over but just weak cant even fight in corners.

When I saw lane hudson stake for the first time(2yrs ago).. i was impressed (more than Slaf). He did some moves on Slaf. ;p Would be different now but back then I was already thinking who would play on his right side in the NHL. :P Wanna see Bacher and Lane have some play time in the near future. Zetterberg looked impressive.. he has that work ethic I love but really small. I mean Caufield/Desharnais small but we will see how he turns out.. Caufield is an NHLer.. It's just that can we afford develop a Smurf line again. Ramage has more white hair this year :D

If I'm Hughes right now my soul focus would be on acquiring Leon Draisaitl.....LISTEN, before you go commenting that I'm insane. Look, Edmonton has two problems that Montreal can help fix 1. Cap issues 2. only 3 draft picks in 2025. Leon is a UFA after this up coming season and I don't know if Edmonton can pay him because McDavid's UFA is the following year and he's already a cap hit of 12.5million. Both will command north of $13million and Edmonton this year is already over the cap paying Leon 8.5million. For some stupid reason they are paying Darnell Nurse 9.25million for some time to come. Montreal has the ability to trade Armia, retain salary on Anderson to trade him, I don't think Gally is going anywhere and hopefully Dvorak will get traded out. That opens roughly 10 million in cap, plus the extra 20million (including LITR). And in return Edmonton can get a 1st, 2nd, two 3rd round picks for 2025, 2-3 prospects, and a vet or two (perhaps Armia and or Newhook). Think of it 1st line Dach, Draisaitl, Demidov (known as the dirty D line) 2nd line Suzuki, Caufield, Slafzilla, 3rd line Newhook/Evans, Roy, Beck. Ask yourself this.....does this not sound like a cup winning team now? Do you think I'm still insane? ok, don't answer that. I think until this becomes a reality that there should be no other talk about acquiring other players. We got Demidov who will hopefully be the guy that can put up 90+ points but with a vet like Draisaitl and Dach helping him with Leon's ability to put up 100+ points is a no brainer to me.

They will try for sure! Will they succeed? I doubt because the Oilers are in win now mode and we lack a bit of impact vets to fulfill that role... Matheson would be an awesome fit in Edmonton tho, they lack that puck moving ability on the back end (even more on the left side) + Ekholm is 34

Look no further than Martin St. Louis as example of what undrafted small guys can be capable of if given a chance . Proving everybody wrong is always a great motivator .

Listen, the chances of Alex Zetterberg making the NHL is very slim at best. Hes young yes but even watching him against other young guys at the Canadiens dev camp he was over matched on every shift due to his small frame. He can skate and shoot but there is so much more in the pro game. You cant learn strength or reach unfortunately so you are stuck with what you were dealt

I think they’ll end up bottom 15. If the following happens: Dach stays healthy and everyone more experienced and healthy. They will be better. Maybe even a 10-20 points out of playoff race. If everyone gets hurt again, bottom 10.
