I have this model, and I enjoyed your comments and the demo flight. I'm commenting because in my experience, flying this model on 4 cells is so anemic - it is kinda scary. Of course, we live at 7100 ft MSL, so I can't fault the performance on 4 cell. As a retired military Master Aviator, I have a pretty good understanding of aerodynamics, so I get it. Anyway, it was interesting that you kinda called it at 3 minutes on a 4000, 6 cell. I honestly can't get mine to run out of juice before I just want to land! Easily 6 + minutes of good useful throttle time. So true about the "floaty" thing...I have to cut the power in the adjacent county to get the thing to STOP FLYING. Fun video - keep em coming , they are a great distraction from this insane world. CW4 Dale Z. US Army retired

YA, LIGHT 6S! WHOOOOOO-HOOOOO !!!! Big wing, that SAFE approach shows a proper approach profile to keep speed down, power to flatten or to climb, rocking the wings a little will sink lower in approach, dropping a little airspeed, or mild "S" turns if way out.. a good foreward slip is good to learn for flapless planes

At the beginning of the video you said you were going to try a 4000mAh 6S as well, but you cut the video off after the 3200mAh 6S flight. Thoughts on the 3200 vs 4000 mAh 6S in terms of CG and performance, in terms of the extra weight? Extra flight time is a given,.

Depends on your prior experience. If your getting along good on your other planes you might be good with the viper. If your worries about it then the habu is probably best. It’s all about being used to the speed of things, so prior experience makes all the difference
@slap-nutzrc71453 жыл бұрын
Why would they leave the crap gear on it?
@airtylerb3 жыл бұрын
Unpopular opinion: Having safe and as3x on any jet is a terrible idea. Yes it saves airplanes, but more and more pilots are coming to depend on these systems as a crutch and can’t fly without them. I’m of the belief that safe and as3x should be reserved for trainers and once you get to your second plane you shouldn’t be using it. (I’m a bit old school, I started flying before lipo batteries were introduced to the hobby)
@adamtrzaskowski39012 жыл бұрын
It depends how you use it. As3x (or any gyro) is great in more windy conditions - I use it in all my planes. Instead of fighting the wind I can focus on the acrobatics. SAFE (or any autolevel) is good when you loose orientation, fly into the sun or enter a spin - just flip it on and it might save you the plane. Turn off after recovery.
@airtylerb2 жыл бұрын
@@adamtrzaskowski3901 Fair point, the opinion comes from the idea that for jets in general (edf or turbine), you should be an intermediate to advanced pilot and should have the skills to handle all of those things without any electronic aid. The main reason being that jets are very different from conventional aircraft, they require different approach to flying skills, and if you don’t know what you’re doing they can easily get away from you and become a ballistic missile.

You kno what would be really cool .. is showing everyone where your placing these batteries to get a proper CG. It's almost like every single rc pilot doesn't bother to show it.. It would help if they actually showed where and not try to hide it.. And another thing that would be cool is using different lipos.. spektrums good but expensive. If one out of the 100 rc pilots would do some flying with heavier batteries..
