Hachette Build The Batmobile Tumbler - lssue 95

NOTICE TO ALL TUMBLER BUILDERS, as discovered by @Ben_lowndes10 in his comments to video issue 55, there is a big problem with the steering. After extensive testing it is the Motor wiring polarity that is wrong - so it steers Right when you press Left! The steering actuation after first connection moves in wrong direction, and when at full lock, confuses the sequencer chip because the wrong limit switch is signalled. Steering from then onwards will fail. The interim solution is to reverse the connection of the limit switches to their sockets on the Circuit Board. So, when connecting the wires up in issue #95, push Limit Switch plug #3 into socket #4 and, push Limit Switch plug #4 into socket #3. This will allow the steering to work full lock. However, the Steering will turn Right when you press Left on the remote - and vice versa. The permanent solution is for Hachette to issue a polarity reversing extension wire to steering Motor 31A (installed in issue #41). If Hachette don't, then EVERY BUILDER will have to do the above interim wiring modification to get their steering to work full lock to lock.

My last pack from hachette only went to issue 94… So presume 95, 96 onwards coming out in January now… but at least we can now see where things are going together and that hopefully 🙏 it will work…😊 So great video and in one issue it all starts to come together….😊

Hi, my wheels locked to the left just as yours. The video cut then - would be great to know how did you fixed it. Dreading taking all apart to find out 😢.

@@robt8593 I moved it very gently manually to the right. Once it gets to a certain point it kicks in again. But like I said make sure you do not use full lock

Sorted by poking the micro switches. They are not very good. It works but I don’t trust it. Won’t be showing the steering function off very often 😂 thanks for your help. Fingers crossed with the rest of the build.

The 2 parts in issue 95 fit between the air intakes they are push fit.

Hi kev you now the section with putting in the battery box how would put the power mod in instead which I'm using.

Hi, the problem of the wheels that lock at the end of their travel, you can solve it by inverting cables 3 and 4. Basically you connect cable 4 to switch 3, cable 3 to switch 4. You will see that it does not lock anymore.

I found that the actuator’s hardly moved, i took them apart then greased parts 66A & 66B Where the parts fit together and side, rebuilt and found they worked a lot better, but as a hole build is quite disappointing, lots of plastic parts. Some weeks what you get part wise is poor. Put new batteries in to test the electrics and 3 batteries blow up. Covering the battery box covered in battery acid.

Ciao, il problema delle ruote che si bloccano a fine corsa, lo puoi risolvere invertendo i cavi 3 e 4. Praticamente il cavo 4 lo colleghi allo switch 3, il cavo 3 lo colleghi allo switch 4. Vedrai che non si bloccato più
