I'm Japanese. The story of "Hachi" is a true event that took place in Japan and is known as the story of "Hachiko, the Loyal Dog." It is a well-known tale among Japanese people. The statue of Hachiko at Shibuya represents this story. Note: The story of Hachiko is a famous tale of a loyal Akita dog named Hachiko who continued to wait for his deceased owner at the Shibuya Station in Tokyo every day for nearly 10 years. The story has captured the hearts of people worldwide and symbolizes loyalty and devotion. LOVE from Japan.

The Hachikoh statue in front of Shibuya Station remains the most famous meeting place in Japan! People still use it as a meeting place. This is because it is the place where Hachiko has been waiting for his owner for a long time.

There is a bronze statue of Hachiko in Shibuya. If you come to Japan, please stroke the bronze statue of Hachiko. The Akita dog is loyal and brave to its owner, and has a long history as a partner of hunters, and sometimes even defeats bears. It is the only large dog in Japan and is designated as a national natural monument.

This film absolutely crushes me, as it does a lot of people. For me, well then I was 3 my dad came home from work one day, and his coat pocket was wiggling, and then this little head popped out. My dog Lassie was a collie, and we grew up together. Every day of school, she'd wait for me just where the bus would drop me off. Until one day when I was 15. And when I was almost home, some of the kids on the bus started yelling about a dog that had been run over. I got off the bus and found her lying dead in the road. So yeah, this film's a tough watch for me.

😢❤😢❤ I'm more of a cat person. The story of Hachiko reminds me of the story of the ONLY dog I've ever cared about. He was a german shepherd by the name of Cappy, short for Capitan. He came to me as a puppy while I was visiting a house in Peru. He gave me a tongue bath & started following me everywhere. When it came time for me to go home, we asked the local police precinct to watch over him until I came back. You see I worked overseas. When I finally went back, despite the long separation, I found him waiting for me at the front of the house where I would be staying. He would stay by my side until his dinnertime. He would then go to the precinct for his dinner. Whenever I wanted to see him, all I needed to do was stand in the doorway & whistle loudly. He would come running to be petted. He also loved to chase after the fireworks on independence day. It broke my heart to learn that he had developed arthritis in this hip, blind & deaf. He could no longer adapt to his situation. The police asked me for permission to put him down. The vet said he was in too much pain to be manageable with medication. I still miss him. I feel for the pain you felt just watching this story of Hachiko.

There is more to this story. Hachi was so loved by the people who used Shibuya Station that a bronze statue of him was erected in front of Shibuya Station. However, as World War II dragged on, Japan ran out of metal and was melted down to become part of tanks. Furthermore, the sculptor who created the statue was killed by the US military's indiscriminate bombing of Tokyo. The statue of Hachiko, a faithful dog created by Teru Ando, was lost in the war, and Ando also died in the war. In August 1948, just three years after the end of the war, it was rebuilt by Ando's son, Tsutomu Ando. Although Japan was still under the occupation of the Allied Forces after the war, the story of the faithful dog Hachiko had already been introduced to Europe and the United States before the war. It is said that volunteer dog lovers from the headquarters (GHQ/SCAP) provided tangible and intangible support, and on August 15, the unveiling ceremony for this rebuilt statue, GHQ representatives also attended.

The first bronze statue of Hachiko was melted down the day before the war ended. The statue was reused as a part of a locomotive, not a tank. The material for the second generation statue was reused from a statue (destroyed in a bombing) of another work made by his father

Ok.. saw the title and went immediately to get the tissues......there's gonna be tears...lots of tears !! Roll the film ! :( Akita's tend to be a one person dog. Also, if a dog or even cat has a particularly strong attachment to one person in a family and that person passes, to let the pet see the body at some stage so they understand that they have passed and not just left and not returned... it allows the pet to grieve and move on if they choose. Taking them to the cemetery would not be out of the question for closure , not unlike for humans. I love the story and movie of Hachi, but it always bothered me that knowing the connection between the dog and it's human, no one had the foresight to help the dog realize what was happening in the moment. Great reaction ladies.... you had me in tears. Oh, also I was going to say that many dogs and probably cats can smell a chemical imbalance in their humans, that's how they train seizure alert dogs for people who suffer from seizures , to alert them before they happen and or to lay with or across them until it passes. Have a great day.

It's true that dogs can tell if their owner is not well. If they're about to have a heart attack. I even read a story where a dog of an owner who had cancer but the dog knew the cancer was coming back. The doctors couldn't detect it at first. But the dog kept getting anxious and acting strange so she kept going and they did find it super early to help her be cancer free again. So a dog is even better than the equipment that medical science can offer.

There is nothing in this world so loyal and devoted to us humans as a dog. Not even other humans are so loyal. Since Hachi's (Hachiko's) death, his loyalty has been a symbol in Japan for the ultimate loyalty and devotion. Hachi lives on in all of our hearts. If I can even be half as good as my dog thinks I am, then I will be many times better than I already am. If you want to see a similar movie about dog devotion, watch "Red Dog" (the original Australian version, not the version with the young boy). Another heartbreaking true story.

I'm Japanese. Nice to meet you. I'm commenting using translation. I'm sorry I'm not good at English. Thank you for watching the Hachi movie. The actual Hachi seems to have headed to the station much earlier than usual on the day the owner, the professor, collapsed. As if I felt that the professor had passed away. Hachi, like this movie, when I meet the professor for the last time, I think we are living together in heaven again.

This movie hurts more when you see it again, especially when you understand that Hachi takes the ball to the train station to stop Professor Wilson, he knew that the professor would like to play and it would make him very happy. It hurt me more than seeing the movie for the first time.

I have never cried while watching a drama or emotional movie, but I secretly shed a tear while watching this movie. It's really moving when a dog is this loyal.

For years I would never cry watching a sad movies, nothing seems to make me feel like crying. Then my friend invite us guys to chill at his house. Decided to watch this movie while drinking with the boys. Worst decision ever. I was crying effortlesly, snorting my nose like never before. We know everyone is crying but none dares to make eye contact. This movie since then forever leave a scar in my heart.

I think its impossible for anyone to make it through this movie without breaking down - even if not an animal person. Devastating especially given its based on a true story
