Behind the Games: Johanna Mason Tribute

A look at Johanna's life before the 71st Hunger Games. Johanna tells Katniss a bit about her past. (The fanfic I am writing to go with this video takes place in mockingjay. So pretend the clips from Catching Fire are from Mockingjay during the time that Johanna is told by her head doctor to not censor her thoughts.)

Headcannon: Johanna is 15 when she competes in the games.
Headcannon: Johanna's mother had cancer and the winnings from the Games was what Johanna planned on using in aiding her mother to get treatment.
Headcannon: Blight was Johanna's Mentor.
Johanna Mason was 15 when she was reaped. She lived in District 7 with her parents and little brother. Two weeks before the games, her mother is diagnosed with cancer. Knowing the winnings could be used to aid in her mother's healing, Johanna promises her mom that she will win.
Blight is assigned as her mentor, together they come up with the plan to have Johanna act weak to hid her killer instincts.
After winning, Johanna hides the psychological damage of the Games so that her brother will continued to be shielded from the truth. She doesn't want him to think she is a murderer, so she pretends that everything is OK. Meanwhile her mother's condition worsens.
Johanna refuses to go on the tour at first, not wanting to leave her mother before her treatment. Blight talks her into leaving. When she gets back her family is dead, Snow had killed them because she refused to be a prostitute for the capital.
