The easier way in my opinion is to max out Beasts Awakening bring in hard hitters like Pi and Kuhn set them to rage when fight him. Beasts awakening stops the HP regen Doppelganger gets. So go berserk on him and hope it kills him fast enough. I recommend going in with the broad sword.

So a bit of advice to people First, Doppelganger is always 10 levels higher than Haseo (or the highest level party member, forgot which) but it has the same level cap as you do in the volume. once you hit level 40, doppelganger will no longer go up in level anymore and becomes significantly easier. It is theoretically possible to beat doppelganger at a very early level with good preparations and cheesing but waiting till endgame is still recommended. Second, try to beat doppelganger _BEFORE_ you complete the story since Atoli becomes unavailable once that happens. Her healing is incredibly useful and can help prevent statuses from stacking up as well. Barring that, give everyone the best healing items you can afford and charm and confusion removal items. Finally, do _NOT_ change weapons and then use an attack skill while doppelganger is changing weapons. It's invulnerable during weapon change just like you. Happy hunting.

Thanks for the tips. For me, It appeared In the area that Atoli emailed haseo in order to train in before facing En. I thought it'd be a pushover until it nearly wiped my whole party of lvl 32 characters. Sure glad I had some smokescreens on me. 😅

P.S. once you carry over the data from vol 2 over to 3 you should get the Area Word Moonlight which should have the Doppleganger in there without the wait. can't confirm this yet as i've only seen post on a few guides.

Easier way without all that, Just go into field and wait 5 minutes and he'll spawn on you. Plus your third word gots to be moonlight for easier spawn.

iirc, you get the third word Moonlight in volume 2. This is for volume 1.

Moonlight doesn't come until later. And you def. do NOT want to wait until later to fight Doppelganger, considering HALF of his loot drops (3 out of 6) require you to obtain key items before he'll drop them. And missing even a single one of those key items will result in you permanently losing access to those 3 drops (they will be completely unobtainable). So you def. want to fight Doppelganger starting from Volume 1. Even if you do have to stand around for 5 minutes waiting for him to spawn.

Can’t find Doppelganger at all DX I read the rumors in the forums and went to both high and low level fields killed every enemy and waited for 10 mins each and still doppelgänger will not spawn.

You have to finish the PKer List and youll get this weapon. Finishin up those in every volume gives you certain rewards. Same with the chims, lucky animals, and thje flyers. Except the flyers are easier to do in vol 2 so id recommenced doin only flyers in 2 and 3. The rest you should do in every vol.

If you want everything in the game then id suggest filling up the book of 1000. WIth that said though some items are just easier to get in the 2nd volume. Same goes for the flyer quest. the flyer quest is easier in the 2nd game, but you should attempt the other quests, like pk, lucky animal, and biker quests. The only REALLY MISSABLE items that are worth the effort come from Doppelganger though. SO if you dont care bout book of 1000, then yeah just import your data to Vol. 2 and enjoy the rest of the series. Doppelganger is easier in the next 2 volumes.

Thanks for the input, I basically made this as a fun tutorial though. Theres plenty of ways to fight against him. I even soloed him, which I used the broadsword to do. I just finished the 11 hour forest in Vol. 3 so, I know lot more now. xD Just rusty since i havent played the ps2 games in years. You have to beat him once in every volume. Not every area. He can spawn in any field area if you wait for 5-10min. Then if you transfer the data and the own king item you get for beating him, in the next volume after you beat the game, youll get an area word to get him to spawn for v2 and v3. You get stuff every time you beat him. You need to beat him once in vol 1, twice in vol 2 and twice in vol 3 to get everything he drops.

The own King gives you the chance to get 4 weapons, an armour piece and an accessory. Some of which are the best ones in the game. However, you need to do this in Vol. 1 in order to get any of them. If you dont, you miss out on the chance to get it at all. Thats why its a hidden boss. No one would think of waitin round for 10min. to find a monster. In order to get it all, you need to fight doppelganger once in Vol 1, twice in vol. 2, and twice in Vol. 3. The armour and accessory you get by doin this is worth it alone, but everyone can play the way they want. So I wont tell you what to do.

You probably havent unlocked the area words. You can unlock most words by getting a B rank or higher in dungeons and field areas. You get those 3 by reading the Topics in the Desktop forums though. You can fight Doppelganger in any Field area, but if you want sleipnir to appear make sure your party is all level 50 and the last number for the area is an 8.

Unfortunately yeah. Without the Own King you dont get the opportunity for Dopp's drops in later games, hell just give you area rank rewards instead.

Cheat mode does not stay active if you try to transfer data, so it wouldnt work regardless. Cheat Mode gives you everythin anyway, so i dont even know if you need to fight him if you play that. Your given the best shite, maxed out levels, affection, money and chims. If you reach vol 3 and have the stuff then you dont need to fight it. I never played cheat mode because it would just take the fun away from me. So im not certain on anythin, but i know it doesnt transfer data. SO in cheat mode you either get the equipment or you dont. If you go to the next vol and do cheat mode on that vol too then maybe it gives you it im not sure.

Well the only way to get him to spawn in Vol 1 is go to a field area and put the controller down for 10min. Some say its 5 but if your havin trouble put it down for 10min. come back and when you move there will be a red arrow. If this doesnt work i dont know what to tell you.

@@ZatsHonora It's 5, but Doppelganger appears in a random location in the field, and you might not find him right away. Also, getting into a battle before the timer runs out will reset it, so if you want to fight Doppelganger, try clearing out all the other enemies and then waiting. Oh, and if you went down into the Beast Temple and waited around for 5 minutes, Doppelganger won't appear until you leave the area and go back. (Possible glitch?)

Have you gone to the rumors section and actually read bout the doppelganger? If so, are you sure your not movin at all? You cant move one bit. So set a timer or somethin for 10 real min. After that time, start movin and there will be a red arrow pointin to it. Ths can work in any field area, this one just spawns sleipnir with level 50 characters. So possibly try another field area. If you havent beaten story yet id reccomend doin that first. If any of that doesnt work then I have no idea honestly. I hope this can help. Good luck

You have to defeat the five blacklisted bounties first, you also don't need to stand still only be on the field for 10minutes and he'll warp from island to island, the red arrow only appears if you're on the same island or section of the field as him

Ive liked twin blades more because of the original series with kite, and scythes are my fav with haseo. You see, that makes a lot more sense. I kind of figured it was a twin-blade preference and universal tutorial because you might face Dopps before getting any upgrades. I know some people use smaller weapons, like twin-blades or dual pistols, so the Doppelganger can't use the big weapons with large swings that hit the entire party since they copy you. I'm someone who abuses Rengeki though and the chainsaw sword, as well as being cool, is very good for that if you can mash those 10 hits in very quickly. The tournaments in the game have made me very conservative on skills usage too, reserving them for Rengekis exclusively, and the greatsword is good for landing charged up hits/getting the next rengeki lined up before you recharge. And you're cool too, man, using greentext arrows means you're a cheeky cunt in the first place so we're both cheeky cunts! ^_^ edit: You might face Doppelgangers before you're GOOD at ny of the upgrades. If memory serves me right, you meet the first one in your 20s and thats after getting 2nd form. Not everyone will button mash all that well and regular greatswords are just heavy hitters but dont rack up damage/rengekis like chainsaw swords.

No its not Tri-Edges. I believe its called: Rippers Blade, (Could be recallin wrong though) its the weapon you get after beating all the blacklisted Pk'ers for the Hunting Sidequests.

Your partys average level needs to end in a 0 or a 5 for sleipnir to appear. Best to be maxed out to 50 for him to appear on any field area. Sleipnir isnt needed to fight him, but it makes things easier in my opinion.

Well the own king is the main item you want from him. Thats the item that you transfer over to the next volumes to get the secret weapons and armour if you fight him in every volume. Im not sure he drops sky robe. If your filling out the book of 1000s armour pieces, note that some are easier to get in the next volumes. If you get stuck id suggest movin on. Do try to do all the Pk Quests, lucky animals in Vol 1 though the fliers arent mandatory for vol 1 id reccomend starting that on vol 2 and then 3. Hope this helps. Good luck. ^^

Im gonna be honest idk. My guess is its not rare since im not finding anythin bout it online, Sub robe is in store/dropped be goblin mages(Delta Upfront Blazin Camellia) and wild robe is the Lucky Animal quest reward for Vol. 1, but idk bout sky robe. Do note that it doesnt need to be 100% complete to platinum the game if thats what your after. I plat it and im still missing a few things. Most of the items i missed in vol 1 i got at the beginnin of Vol. 2 Sorri i couldnt be more helpfull.

Nice, found that prick. I have to say, his resitance against melee attacks is huge LVL 50 he and my party. His HP was goind down really slow. But with an Awakening Rengeki i basically one shottet him. I had to build up Morale in this fight, that pushed him slightly below 1K HP, and then after staggering him i used Beast Awakening and then RenGeki in his face, insta death. Or the game bugged out on me, who can say...

The original series was great, but G.U isnt bad. In this series they mentioned 2017 so they released it round the 15th anniversary, which happened to be in 2017. It wouldn't surprise me if they remastered the original ones, since this one did so well.
