But if you’re restricted from server access you’re just stuck with what you can do on your own hardware.. yeah how would you go about collecting useful advanced ai as a hobbyist with the hardware/cost limitations in mind? If I had Google sized server warehouse then sure, that would be a great idea but don’t the modern ai’s take a ton of resources to store/run?

Great quote. "The tools don't matter if you don't know what to do with them." If you don't know what you don't know, it's hard to figure out where you can add value. If you don't understand coding or hacking or art or security or medicine, how can you evaluate the quality of the output you get from the AI when you ask those questions? LLMs predict what the next word should be, based on all the training data. It seems like magic or wisdom to us because we don't realize how predictable we are.

A GPT is a Generative Pre-trained Transformer. OpenAI just happens to be the most popular. GPTs are not Brand-specific to OpenAI. See for example GPT-J, an open-source model not locked behind a paywall -assuming you have the compute to host of course.

When David said he thinks of moving to a cave it's a really interesting point he made, David you'll probably know this already but the story about the Uni-bomber is really fascinating because he moved to a cabin in the woods where he would write a manifest of how technology will be too advanced and out of control. I disagree with he's violence, but he does make strong points about Tech in general. If you read this David and you have no idea what i'm talking about please take a look at the MK ultra and how the uni bomber became a controversial but fascinating example.

I'm going to PAY THEM if they listen to the first 90 seconds of this video and can prove they watched it. After that, next 30 seconds pretty impactful too. PLEASE make a 90 second version of the beginning of this video without any ads, or "skip this" for attention deficit younger generations, and SAVE SOMEONE"S FUTURE BY LETTING THEM SEE THIS. There are literally AI tools which can create you whole web app. Sure still not well optimized and developed but it's a matter of time. You can use AI to create you whole look of an app (no more wire frames etc.), and then use other tools to write code. Try to imagine if in future you can select a stack which meant to be used. Same with creating infrastructures. I don't see any reason why AI tool couldn't create AWS infra (for example) based on criteria and good prompts.

This guy's heart is in the right place, even if all his information isn't (he is human after all).. @37:59 a "GPT" is an acronym for "**G**enerative **P**re-trained **T**ransformer". Today, its a family of AI models that can create natural language from user prompts. The generative pre-trained thing has been around since the 90s. But it really bore fruit in 2017 when that one Google researcher and his buddies published the iconic _"Attention is all you need"_ research paper. When everyone's panties were blown to bits, the ones who could quickly put on a new one the quickest went running to implement the concepts explained. OpenAI is one of those companies and in 2018 created 'GPT-1'.
