Dont bother, all mobile phones have been automatically trackable to the sq meter since the 80's. You either unplug or deal with it.... trying high-end stuff just puts up a flag and makes you a target(for worse things). BLE is kind of irrelevant tbh as is AI. As for jammers, you are basically telling RI's(RF Investigators, names may vary) your location(unless your in the middle of nowhere, in which case: why bother) and that you are up to no good, ppl go to jail for it. It really depends on ur threat model, Turn off anything your not using(eg BT/wifi/location/mic/camera-nothing phones are good for that), be very careful what apps you use and how you use them and you should be ok most of the time. If your threat model goes above that then dont come to YT for advice. Lastly: RF shielded pouches are a much better solution if your worried about your own device only... tinfoil works too (yes really)

Android or better yet an alt OS then the dev mode, all sensors off(no mic, no cam, no gyro, no accelerometers, no radio like bluetooth or mobile data or wifi, jailbreak a non-apple phone and install an alternative OS, faraday pouch if u need it. Funny that the only major phone with an unlocked boot loader is actually the pixel. This stuff plus Proton mail unlimited with its associated encrypted apps. Good folks out of Switzerland. Now it's a separate chip that doesn't consume much and just triggers the "active listening"

There needs to be laws, perhaps even constitutional amendments that protect personal data, private correspondence, biometrics, etc. Companies, including social media platforms, advertisers, AI and “personal assistants”, and tech/media corporations should exclusively collect information for the purposes of providing you a product or service, they should only hold that data for the duration necessary to fulfill their end of the transaction, they should not sell or distribute that data without the user’s consent, and it should require a court order and strict supervision for anyone to access data outside of that circle of informed consent.

Agree, even Apple makes use of “Local Differential Privacy” algorithms which ensures that the raw data is randomized before sending it to the servers. I don't understand how this would allow "Big Brother" to de-anonymize user data - or to get to their personal data. If it would be just "encrypted" I would have doubts too, but "Local Differential Privacy" doesn't even trust Apple itself (Keeping in mind that the privacy loss is less). A lot of the concepts here about linking tangential information to a target data point has in fact been solved within the subject matter of database anonymization, Stacy Prowell has some good lectures on youtube about anonymizing databases (with probability, with adding noise, removing determinants, etc.). I don't know if tech companies do that and I will believe they don't until I see proof otherwise, but the math and the practice is there to make data collection and anonymization secure.

Actually Rob Braxman's videos teaches how to protect your privacy by yourself, there are numerous videos teaching how make a degoogled android phone like the ones he sells. A Faraday bag will temporarily cut your phone's connection, but it will still collect your available sensors and upload the data as soon as network is re-established. The result will be a log such as "the user probably put his phone in Faraday bag while going from point A to point B", the sensors are able to predict if you were walking, on a bicycle, on a motorcycle or in a 4 wheel from A to B.

I hear this a lot from non-US folks that the US privacy regulations don't apply to them... as if the US does not have a base in every NATO country, didn't force Australia to try their own citizen with treason for whistleblowing about US war crimes in Afghanistan, as if the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Section 702 act doesn't include "authorizes the [warrantless] targeted collection of foreign intelligence information from non-U.S. persons located abroad." (Mind you the only outrage I've seen of this int he US is that it's been used on Americans abroad as well) America runs the world and has no problem openly showcasing that.

You can always create new apple id whenever you buy new iphone and keep that ai agent at "learning" state for another year or more. Just make sure you don't use apple backups to transfer data from old phone to prevent transfer of created ai context. There are tons of solutions to have private cloud in your home device and those backups (multimedia, docs, contacts, etc) can be made with third party apps. Also, why not blocking the front camera? Do you really need selfies? It only takes few sensors to be blocked on your phone to keep the ai agent at bay. If you do so, the data from sensors you can't block will be inconsistent making the context not sufficient for processing by ai.

I think it's important to remember to point out to the viewer that people should understand what threat modelling is and whether this much anonymity is actually needed and worth the trade off by being inconvenienced. Telemetry information so long as its not identifiable is not a problem for the majority of people. Sure there are those out there that need to worry about having 100% anonymity because they are targets by nation-states but this isn't most people. It's always a tradeoff. I'm ok with telemetry but not to the level say that Microsoft does it. But say someone like Canonical just collecting non-identifiable data on how you use their Linux operating system so they can make it better. People end up paranoid about everything and it's not needed for most people.

I got a ad for an iPhone 16 from Verizon during this video LMAO I will say too that while we technically are supposed to have freedom of speech in the US, but there has been a lot happening where that gets blatantly disrespected. With the incoming president I dont think it will get better, if not much worse. The political groups we currently have in power are very “Freedom of speech but only for me and people in the same party as me”

Legally, nobody owns content generated by AI right now. It's not your data even though it's about you, generated with your information, made on your computer, with your electricity. Prove me wrong or help me fix it.

I like how he only said that an iPhone was the 'most advanced spying device' because he's selling an Android based phone. He wouldn't sell maybe phones if he told the truth about it being any modern smart phone including Android.

In time it won’t matter what you get, once the tech is embedded into society, every company will impose it on you. In short Linux may not do it today, but who’s to say it won’t tomorrow. I’m sure AI in internet providers Routers isn’t far off, as AI tech gets cheaper each day. I believe companies are already adding AI in hardware for intrusion detection (Cisco), so in future your providers will likely use similar tech for reporting to law enforcement the way we are headed.

They can and do track your phones location and can tell if you are in protests or anything the government is not happy with and this can be down by companies that are not even law enforcement. Privacy is a myth. And people that say others should go and look at the systems and software that I have seen.

Hahahaha so true, I wore these sexy over the knee boots out to a gig the other night…. First time I’ve ever felt comfortable enough to wear any over the knee boots EVER. My phone was in the room, but not touched at all. I didn’t take an any pics, but literally before I had left the house to go out… I was getting ads for other over the knee boots. Say no more. Think fish eye, think iPad video tracking. Truth. Apple and google combined. Faraday 💼

Is there not a privacy issue for other people though? I don't to be around people with this technology I have no say in this. Not only are they collecting the users data, but also the people around them. I don't want my data with Apple.

Google is not only linked to the GoogleID. Their network creates a digital fingerprint which may not be associated with a known person. When it sees similar behavior even on a different content it will match it and suggest similar content. It has been doing this for over 10 years. Google also records voice samples, GPS data, scans photos, etc. Just because Apple is leading in these areas doesn’t mean the others won’t immediately copy them in 9-12 months. Your fanboy is showing.

Love your content, David. I really, sincerely do. But did this guy just say, 'it says that on Wikipedia. So Somebody must have information that verifies this.' (14:39). Dude... There's all sorts of stuff on Wikipedia that's unverified 😂. This makes me question the interviewee's integrity at the very beginning. Just my two cents.

David, children are watching this! Take some responsibility for the content you're publishing. This material has exactly the credibility of those TV shows about haunted places where, for an hour, people are like, "Have you seen something? No, but I've heard it should be there." This guy names technologies that are available, have been approved, and in use for over a decade now! What prediction, where? Of course, there are always sides to things, so when you look at a kitchen knife, you can either see sandwiches for your family or a first-degree murder case, but you need to know what you're talking about. Your guest confuses technologies or, from the way he speaks about them, simply doesn't know what they actually do. He wrote a code he won't show-well, actually, ChatGPT wrote it for him, but surely, he recreated Recall... Screenshots feature - what kind of privacy research is that? Voice shortcuts and the microphone always on-yes, the microphone is always on and always listening, but only for commands you pre-recorded! Instead of "Hey, Siri," you can record "Sleep tight," and it will start a preprogrammed routine like playing an audiobook with fairytales. He confuses (or so it seems) the functionality of IR, so InfraRed, with LiDAR. LiDAR does use those beams to scan the environment. There's a neat app on the phone you can use if you want to measure things but you need to press the button to open it, it's an app! The CSAM case, which was a proposal for fighting serious crime, was an idea not to side-scan users' photos (as in - what you see on them) but to calculate their hash and compare those hashes to a database of known abusive material hashes. Apple dropped it (read about the technical difficulties of proposed Neural Hashes). AI will send a summary of who you are? That's too ridiculous to comment on but what I will say is that there must have been a reason Apple was "late" to the AI market. They finally introduced it and have been transparent about how it works since then. They specifically state they will never know about your private data being used for computation in their cloud if it can't be done locally. If someone can show them how to abuse it, they offer up to one million dollars in bug bounty. You, David, did an interview with the ProtonMail CEO who explained that the technology and solutions they use are simply math! Math that works against abusers, making their security almost impossible to crack. So ProtonMail can do it and you are ok to trust it, but Apple can't? Claiming that iPhone is the worst regarding privacy shows a clear lack of understanding of technology or what's worse ignorance. If you don’t understand the technology thou, check what happened after the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California, in 2015, and how Apple refused to work with the FBI. Finally, "Freedom of speech doesn't necessarily exist in the UK"-seriously, that's disappointing. If it wasn't for freedom of speech, Brexit wouldn't have happened, and it did happen. Even if it were all a conspiracy, you wouldn't have elected the opposite party, would you? I’m sure many young viewers follow your channel, and instead of sharing knowledge, discussing privacy concerns, and talking about potential threats, you're spreading paranoia-and that can be dangerous.
