Bonito vídeo, la música de cajum. Y una lección para la música y el baile, los tiempos y el ritmo.

The most ASTOUNDING version of this song--"Hackberry Hop"--is by Cleoma Breaux, backed with Joe Falcon. I heard their version on the radio years and years ago, but I've never been able to locate it it on a record or the 'net. Does anyone know where I can listen to this or get a copy?--Thanks!

JRCinKY Well, you and me were not there in '35, when better women than her were about, years before that was filmed anyway. Like your post and wish I could have been there with you at Breaux Bridge. What gets me is they put R&R down to other kind of folk and falsely credit all the great songs as being written by ....... Know your roots and realise just how groundbreaking this music was, It was not a new song in 1935, it is at least 120 years old.

+up2space Yes, all communities, throughout Europe and the Americas need to be aware that the wiping out of all culture is happening, before our very eyes. A totally obedient, non partisan world is easier to milk as a cash cow. English/French/Germanic/Celtic/Hispanic music is the base of all sophisticated music. Why history has been revised to place it's beginnings with prehistoric sounds used to kerfuddle me, not anymore, you hit the nail on the head...

C'est en effet de l'ancien Français importé de l'Acadie: it's old french indeed and imported of Acadia (New Brunswick). The words are (not exactly): It' the hip and Taiau (shout for hunting), my dear, who stole my sled, when they saw I was hot, my dear, they gave me back my sled." And they change after the words in each verse: It's the toad who stole my hat and so on. We can guess there was a kind of caller who was in charge to find knew words and make laugh by dancing. They could also held the beginning of the verse and change what follows: "it's the hip and taiau which stole my sled, who stole my hat, who stole my coat.

@stbricesday9 жыл бұрын
+Kenneth Berg Hello Kenneth, I drive one of your great station wagons, built in Gothenberg, a 1994 940. So I like Swedes, very much. This video is not related to the song, it is put there for effect, to grab young folk towards these great sounds, so she can dance with whoever she likes! To answer your other post, the only records I used from this era are my 78's. I have used LP's for some of the Nathan Abshire uploads, but I try to stick to the 50 and 75 year rules of copyright, else YT get upset and strike me.
