The orchestrated music is superb, especially given that it was not a multi-track recording. This is the raw and real deal. Exceptionally talented musicians and the Ross sisters? What a talent these three young sisters had. You can see the great joy they got out of performing and their acrobatic contortionism is breathtaking. They came to England and gave many performances here and were a big hit. They performed for the King and Queen and appeared at the London Palladium. By 1950 all of the sisters were married and retired from show business. The youngest, Dixie Jewel Ross, married the famous English song and dance man and TV star Dickie Henderson and they had two children. Tragically Dixie Jewel died from an overdose of sleeping pills on their 15th wedding anniversary. They had been on a trial separation and after two weeks Dickie returned home to talk about a reconciliation, where he was told that Dixie Jewel had died on the way to the hospital.

Yes. But audiences DEMANDED talent then - even in the 1970s. You had be able to sing, dance, do comedy and something else besides, And in truth, seeing talent is expensive, as Carol Burnett will tell you. That's why we have Got Talent and Idol and Voice shows. They don't cost much to produce.

Genetic joint hypermobility syndrome would explain the contortions, but as for the muscle strength, I'm at a loss. They were teenagers too (18, 17, and 15 respectively), so they hadn't been honing adult musculature for 10 years in order to do it! Perhaps their parents were both acrobats?

If you watch "What's my Line", you'll see a lot of "world famous" mystery guests that you've never heard of. Heck, before i started watching it, I'd never heard of Arlene Francis, Dorothy Kilgaran, or Bennet Cerf. I Guess there are multiple levels of "world famous" and only the very top are remembered after a century. Looking back on history, we may only know 30 people from the ancient world and they were mostly kings or queens of large empires.
