I just typed this command, sudo apt-get install (package name)

No need to know package name word by word just type the name and done. E.g sudo apt-get install hydra

Kali Linux has metapackages. To install all the programs that come with Kali Linux by default type sudo apt install kali-linux-default. It might freeze up your computer for half an hour as it needs to download about 10 gigs of data and then untar and install it. So do it when you have nothing to do on your PC.

Hi, I've installed it successfully on windows, but I can't manage my alfa wireless card because there isn't any wireless extensions working at the moment. socrayhte It won't work because Windows 7's kernel doesn't have the ability to understand Linux syscalls. That OS is almost a decade old. The Windows kernel that's on Windows 10 has gotten a lot of improvements in this time.

It doesn't change your OS to linux, it adds a subsystem (basically a virtual machine) that you can run the terminal for the OS from CMD, and run the graphical interface using remote desktop

nice tutorial. I didn't know wsl has kali support also. By the i installed ubuntu on my windows system and tried to run some of the commands like top, vmstat. top runs properly while vmstat command throws error 'Error: /proc must be mounted' I tried figuring out the the issue. I found the ticket raised on github regarding it. But not proper solution. In any case if you know how can we solve this issue, please provide steps to solve the issue.
