I am so proud excited to be making this video in partnership with British Horse Feeds. I have talked so much about feed on this channel so when the opportunity arose to create content for British horse feed in return for their support of my horses I jumped at the chance
you can find more information about their feed and what they can do for your horses on their website. Their feed is stocked nationwide in the uk and

Fibre beet is a miracle feed ! I have a 30 yr old shetland who is pretty much just gums now and can no longer eat any thing other than mash.British horse feeds have been amazing with advice for him. He now lives solely on bucket feeds of mostly fibre beet and is thriving. Couldn't be without it! Thank you for another great video 🦄

When I first got my TB I listened to others and went with a premixed feed and then loads of chaff…. With years of research and altering his feeds…. He and my laminitis pony get different amounts of Speedibeet and Small amounts to copra along with their vitamins and any supplements and loads of hay and grass and salt! My horses are super shiny, happy and the perfect weight! I like knowing that my horses are eating simple and inexpensive feeds that I know the ingredients and can alter as needed for each horse!

Thank you Miri for taking the time to explain not only the horses digestive system but also what can occur if feeding the incorrect feed to them. I have already contacted British Horse Feeds and Kirsten has replied with her recommendations for LuLu, my five year old rescue horse, and Oscar, my four year old rescue companion pony. I am just finishing off the feed I have left and then it is going to be Fibre Beet all the way. Thanks 👍

Great video, very helpful. My understanding with linseed is that once the shell is cracked it begins to turn rancid as it is unstable. I ground the linseed, bag and freeze it. There has been significant research on GM foods on animals and the destruction of gut bacteria and links to cancer.

We love Fiberbeet for all our horses (2 poor doers, 1 laminitic welshie). We are looking at ways to help our "awkward" TB's diet as he arrived a real wreak. He has gained some good weight but we are looking at how to support him over winter as we aim to bring him into work. We are facing some issues first but Fiberbeet has been a god send

I swear by Speedi-beet. I've fed all my horses on it in varying degrees. I have a Clydesdale with CPL who can't have alfalfa but needs good nutritional support, a Welsh x who has it as a "carrier" along with a grass chaff for his vitamins, and a 3yr old native type who is potentially in foal, now also on it. Love the stuff!

So interesting to listen to your take on these things… I have just finished my a level biology and have a particular interest in my horses feed and how I can simplify and improve it so she feels her best. I feel I can relate to your level of understanding and all the explanations make sense in a biological, molecular level. Would you ever consider doing a podcast? I would definitely love that. I don’t have social media such as instagram as it heightens my anxiety but I have KZbin and Spotify. I love listening to your outlook on equestrian topics. Just a thought… ❤❤❤

Brilliant Miri. I was always put off speedy beet as it has some sugar in. For fatty welshies. Horses are so similar to us in so many ways. With gut microbiome. The herbs they can have. I use dengie healthy hooves chaff. And forage plus. Thats it. I did try micronised linseed. But sent my welshie a bit bonkers. Totally agree with you. So much of our food is sprayed with toxic glyphosate. And horses too. Vile toxic muck.🙈 i like natural feeding. Natural living out for horses. The balancers, nuts full of fillers and all sorts of unsuitable food chemicals for horses. It affects thier health and behaviour so much. Healthy gut healthy body. I have watched you changing your feed regime over the years. I like this one best. Natural. Great its uk based. Awsome. Helping our planet too. Buy local. When my gut flora was destroyed by antibiotics. My whole body was sick. Those gut bugs are crucial to health. I now make eat drink fermented foods and drinks. And changed diet. Horses are no different. Stuffing them full of toxic chemicals is asking for trouble. Horses are meant to eat grass. Fibre. Blondie is looking fantastic Miri. Congratulations on being sponsered by this British food company...loved this video. You are one amazing horsey lady.❤❤❤🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎xxxx

Great info about the fibrebeet. I've been looking to change my aging gelding's diet as he is beginning to find chewing & digesting hay more difficult. He currently gets copra meal with alfalfa (we call it Lucerne here in Australia) but I'd really like him to get more fibre. I'd be interested to know your thoughts on cold pressed linseed oil.

I find linseed oil can make them more energetic due to the process it goes through to be created. But I will be totally honest I haven’t had loads of experience with it myself.

Believe it or not they are actually getting a percentage, low yes, but still getting bugs in their diet. These bugs live in various forms on the forage they eat. If your horse is not on pasture they miss these very important type of nutrients. Bugs can actually be considered as a superfood. Amino acids, micronutrients, proteins etc.

Great video, would you still feed linseed even if you are feeding fibre beet as opposed to speedi beet? :)

Depends what the horse needs, if they need more fat in the diet for condition then yes I would add linseed

Yes absolutely, not in huge quantities, like I state in the video. I would aim for 100g per day as a good base line with other fibre based feeds

Oils aren‘t very healthy for the liver, you might want to consider just adding regular linseeds and adding boiling water to them :) Safe to feed, just don‘t give too much. Same nutrients
