Other than Pikachu, I'm guessing we'll find hacks for starters and their evolutions, mewtwo, maybe a rattata hack somewhere... Anyway, this sure is a first hack I've seen for Pokes that aren't starters, mascots or say have a huge presence overall like legendaries or starting area minnows. A Scyther hack is a first of some kind.

It's hard to make a Mario game work for a character with blades for arms. If the landing sprite (i.e. descent) differed and it showed him pouncing with his blades, it might be more acceptable. However, creatures' dead states see them squashed. But, it looks like a fun hack at any rate--very beginner friendly with bosses that aren't pushovers. It got rid of a world map or any semblance of level selection, though. There might be some warp zones we didn't see. Don't rule it out just because its protagonist is mismatched for the setting.

Honestly, I commend the weird choice in having a Scyther as a protagonist, even if he doesn't slash at stuff, this could have easily been some boring contemporary Pokémon like Pikachu or Eevee. plus they made a totally unique sprite for the guy! In the end, this seems like a pretty solid and well paced Hack. doesn't get overly fancy with gimmicks nor slow things down with long story bits or a world map. it's pretty well focused despite all the various world themes. could do without Kaizo Trapping you with the fish at the start of it's levels though.

​@Alexs23743 The only Mario thing I can see Rotom doing is each appliance being a Power Up but would be hard to hack in a unique Power Up replacing the Feather, Tanooki Leaf, or Fire Flower, or maybe some other Power Ups from SMB3. Could be wrong on that one. Not too familiar with SMW Rom Hacks. But programming each Appliance to have a unique Power Up move vs just using SMW or SMB3 attacks might be difficult
