Good, but the simplest is always better. 1 single purchase, 2% of the capital at risk and let the trend run for at least 1 year while you do not reach your stop. If you lose, stop 5%, close the position. The next month you start again with another purchase

Just be clear we exit the trade when price closes above the 70line of the rsi and when we’re at least 30 ticks in profit? So both rules for exit need to be fulfilled?

No. The original rule just uses the RSI level > 70. The second idea was to exit when the close of the day is at least 30 ticks in profit regardless of the RSI level.

Jarrod, than you for another very informative, clear video. One thing I don't understand is why the number of trades varies when you optimize the closing. Seems to me the trade should be opened regardless of the closing parameter, so you should have the same # of trades every time with just the profitability results varying.

Hi Mike, if a trade is held longer then another possible entry will be missed because a trade is currently open. If you exit very quickly then you can take all available entry signals which come along hence higher number of trades.

Ive backtested this, and for some reason its win rate and profitability is alot less than in this video, though its not the worst strategy in the world. What suprises me is how well some simple strategies based on price action and candlesticks perform in backtests
