I always thought LR's local-adjustment Graduated Filter worked like a screw-on glass graduated ND filter over the lens. No less but no more. Now I see I was wrong! I had no idea LR's Graduated Filter was this customizable, powerful, even better than a glass filter, when tweaked to the needs of the image. Anthony, your free KZbin teaching videos are as good as or better than any pay teaching videos (e.g. CreativeLive or Lynda) out there. Thank you for helping us all do better.

Hi Anthony! Noticed a message from Phlearn, that their viewers should view this channel! Right on!!! On my learning curve over LR and PS am amazed by its power. Loved you're clear explanations. It sure gives a sense of relief because the subjects that you address will be in future for me, the chance of making it happen! Cheers

Longtime LR user (had RawShooter and was a v1 beta tester) but I still learn something when I watch your videos. Didn't know about the fade option. Thanks!

Great explanation of the workings of this filter in LR. Same rules apply to ALL the local adjustment filters - brilliant.

Another good and informative video. I subscribe to a list of KZbin Contributors that deal with Lr and Ps but I have learned more from your videos than all the others. You seem to be able to address the real life Lr uses that those of us who edit frequently, or daily in my case, will find interesting and valuable. Thanks!

That's some really useful tips there, thanks very much. The Range Mask function would have helped me a lot only a couple of hours ago, rather than using the Erase Brush to in the grad. filter as I did!

Another tip is to create a graduate filter just outside the frame and rotate the filter. Be sure that the filter bounderies are not on the photo. You have than fully control over the whole picture. Now you can do a quick dodge and burn with the range mask set to luminosity. First do the dodge part. Create another filter (or copy the previous) for the burn part. Just go to the other side with the slider.
