Down-on-his-luck private eye Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) gets hired by cartoon producer R.K. They actually give you a pretty good clue as to Judge Doom's true form. Rewatch the scenes in RK Maroon's office and pay attention to the cartoon posters on the wall. Every poster features a character you see in the movie (Roger Rabbit, Baby Herman, etc.) except for one: there's a poster of a mysterious cartoon character named Pistol Packin' Possum holding the same gun Doom shot Maroon with later in movie. And in that first scene in the office, PPP's gun is always pointing at Maroon. Once you notice it, you can't unsee it.

First of all, I love the show! 2nd: Newt, I had the same toys back when I was growing up, and I also remembered a story book+cassette tape thingy. It was a red tape and my brothers and I recorded over it loooong ago. Kinda wish we hadn't now. Lol Tony, I am totally with you about the Mario "situation". I am not Italian, but as a Mario Brothers fan, I am 100% behind you there. And now, 3rd (best for last) Crystal, you are the most beautiful Jessica Rabbit I ever saw. The public transportation being bought out by Cloverleaf actually mirrored what happened in LA in real life around the same time. A syndicate of auto related manufacturers (Firestone is the main one that comes to mind) bought out the Red Car public transport and got rid of it, essentially turning LA into a car town, reliant on freeways.

In the book, when cartoons talk they actually cause talk bubbles to appear. So every time Rodger says something Eddie has to take it down and fold it up and put it to the side. That alone would have pushed the budget for this movie through the roof. I'm trying to remember, I don't have the book I only have the sequel. It seems like the author of the book didn't really get a lot out of the movie adaptation financially, if I remember correctly the last I saw he was struggling to get the books reprinted. I can tell you in the sequel Eddie is dating Jessica sister, who is a 6in tall duplicate of herself

Bruce Wayne was training to be Batman and to learn from a great detective he dresses up as Robin (the detective names him after Robin Hood). A couple things you guys didn't mention: 1-The original book featured comic book characters instead of cartoon characters. But obviously they changed it because it made more sense too and is a much more fun movie overall because of it. 2-I believe the original voice actor for Roger was supposed to be Peewee himself? I think there is some animatics on youtube of it. 3-The Donald and Daffy scene was supposed to be much longer and they were to fight each other more. 4-Also when Jessica Rabbit appears the Tex Avery Wolf was supposed to whistle at her. That was cut. 5-There was supposed to be more weasels, but it was just too much to animate 6-The toon way to die is normal for them. They can come back from that. Like in Tom and Jerry. But the dip is a permanent death. 7-You missed the Funeral deleted scene which is supposed to feature the toons crying over Acme. An Entire day passes by before Jessica Rabbit shows up at Eddie's Office. It was supposed to feature Foghorn Leghorn as the priest. Tom and Jerry. Felix the Cat. Mighty Mouse. Superman! Popeye, Olive Oyl, and Bluto. Heckle and Jeckle. Horace Horsecollar. Clarabelle Cow. Porky and Petunia Pig. Droopy. Andy Panda. Horace and Katnip. George and Junior. Sylvester. Baby Huey. Tubby the Tuba. Three Little Pigs. Goofy. Yosemite Sam. Elmer Fudd and the harlequin clown. Bugs and Mickey. And at the end of the scene Casper was supposed to chase everyone away XD. 8-After that there is the infamous pig head scene which is on KZbin which Eddie takes off in the shower and thats why he comes out of the shower before Jessica shows up. 9-There was also a missing scene with Dick Tracy which would have made sense, but I guess it was cut :( 10-Judge Doom is actually Pistol Packin Possum. He worked for Maroon along with Roger. So it makes sense why he hates him. There is a poster of him in Maroon's studio when Eddie goes there. Also you can just look it up on Google images. The same gun literally pears into the window where the poster is and Doom has the exact same gun and his eyes are red like dooms. His squeaky voice and extendable limbs also make sense as well as him working with weasels. That stupid spinoff comic about Judge Doom's origins is NOT canon. 11-Lena Hyena (the fake roger rabbit) was actually from a comic book. She is actually really disgusting looking in the comic and is drawn by one of the MAD magazine illustrators. Newt should do better research next time! JK I am kinda this movie's number one fan lol. PS: I also have an idea for a sequel lol

I have a few things i got over the last several years related to the movie; a laserdisc copy, which looks fantastic, a jessica rabbit doll, who i never see merch for and that storybook/record and a cassette tape. Crystal, I'd say some lame thing about not needing Jessica's boobs because it's about heart, but yeah, Jessica's boobs are a big part of her character.

The “Black Sambo” character youre talking about is actually the Tar Baby from song of the south. In that movie, brer rabbit picks a fight with him because he wont answer him. He then gets stuck with him when he realizes that it is made of tar. I never noticed it was in roger rabbit, which is Amazing. Disney’s Splash Mountain, which was based on song of the south and opened a year after roger rabbit was released I believe, had the tar baby scene changed to him getting stuck in a beehive, because they thought it was too controversial. Its weird that it wasnt too controversial to be in a new movie at the time.

People remember the Dirty Harry sequels, "Go Ahead, Make My Day" was from the fourth one. The Psycho sequels are more obscure and The Return of Josey Wales is virtually unseen.

My theory: Most toons do not like humans. Especially when they're walking around Toontown. Given the segregation and the fact that they must work with humans, they tolerate working together.

The Toons themselves don't mind entertaining humans, since that's why they're brought to life. What they do mind is being segregated against and being treated as inferior just because they're animated. It seems as if many live humans strictly view Toons as merely silly entertainment or, in Jessica's case, something to ogle over (see Rule 34), no different than the real life racist segregation of the period the film's set in (the Ink 'n Paint Club literally being the Toon equivalency to the Cotton Club, because just like how genuine segregation had places where black staff served white patrons, the Ink 'n Paint Club had Toons -- including famous ones like Betty Boop, the penguin waiters from Disney's adaptations of _Mary Poppins_ [although, as _Saving Mr. Banks_ will attest, the real author P. L. Travers detested Walt Disney's adaptation of her source material], the duck duo of Donald & Daffy, and even Roger's buxom lounge singer wife Jessica, who was drawn to be sexually appealing not funny, which is why Betty Boop tells P.I. Eddie Valiant that Jessica's the lucky one for marrying Roger, since most Toons typically value humor & personality over face value visual aesthetics, considering how Toons can be easily redrawn (see Lynea Hyena as a a malformed version of Jessica) or even manually shapeshift/physically contort themselves to look any way they please for a visual gag, but will usually revert back to their default form after the joke is finished -- serving live human patrons). This exact same kind of false logic applies to the worldview that all cartoons are for children, which this film, _Cool World_ , [adult] swim on Cartoon Network, _Stripperella_ on the USA Network, and several others all exist to serve as a clear counterpoint to this mindset. The same stigma that's against 2D inkblot Toons in this movie can also be applicable to puppetry too, as evidenced by Jim Henson reinventing puppetry as a viable art form, only for his work on _Sesame Street_ to continue perpetuating the notion that puppets are for kids when the sitcom _Greg the Bunny_ (which was mentioned), the stage productions _Avenue Q_ (the seedy on/off Broadway musical "cousin" of _Sesame Street_ from whence the sleazy song "The Internet is for Porn" comes from) & _Puppet Up: Unstrung & Unstuffed_ , the _Happytime Murders_ (basically puppets committing murder), and other puppet shows all exist to show that puppetry, like animation, is for everyone, not just a singular demographic.
