Thanks for posting. This place is on my short list of places to fly into.

Glad to see that fire grate hasn't quite given up the ghost yet. It's getting close thoough. We ight bring a new one for the fire pit next year.

Not quite, but getting there. Couple pieces on their last legs. Had to rebuild it a bit that trip since it was left in a broken state when I arrived. Would be great if you replaced it next season!

I clicked the bell! FYI - I did it because you told me to and wanted to help you grow. Thanks for sharing your outings.

At first, I thought the Dawn dish soap in your grocery cart was TUMS antacid. I was worried about what kind of a cook you were until I rewound the clip and played it back slowly enough to see what you were actually buying. I'm sorry I doubted you...

Another great vid Rich! What brands/equipment is your preference to carry in the plane when flying over the open water? And I would also like to put my vote in for a video of a in depth walk around of your new bird! Thank you!

My open water planning consists of doing so when the water is warm, flying high enough to eliminate/reduce time spent out of gliding difference and flying planes that can get nice and slow. I also do alter flight path to remain within gliding distance of boats when I can't make the shore. No special equipment. Someday I'm going to want to extend my season and will take other precautions.

@@RichWellner Justa thought 'equipment-wise', Rich ... when I was asst safety director for the La state office of aviation, I saw many aircraft accidents. I can clearly recall several occasions where some of the occupants would have survived if they had some form of head protection (the Davey Allison crash, for example). I'm not suggesting a military grade flight helmet ... or that you wear it during the entire flight. Just have it accessible for that possible emergency (Murphy's Law) landing ... especially if you routinely perform 'off-airport' ops. In truth, a Walmart bicycle helmet could have avoided some of those fatalities. Had they not lost consciousness for those precious few seconds, they could have escaped the aircraft before drowning, burning or bleeding out and maybe even helped rescue others. With respect, 'Food' for thought ... 😉 ^v^

@@taproom113 I would love to wear a helmet. I'm well convinced of the utility. Unfortunately, I haven't yet found one that works for me. I'm *almost* too big for this plane and every helmet I've tried so far rubbed on the tubing in the ceiling. :-(

You were not alone, all those snakes were with you lol Great video and love the new plane! I know you do camping & cooking videos but what about doing video comparing the two planes?
@joshuawyatt34502 жыл бұрын
Well, North Fox *was* on my must-visit list...until you said snakes! 😮
@RichWellner2 жыл бұрын
This one didn't really have a comparison, but the last one did and the next one does as well. Keep watching. :-) This was my longest trip to North Fox, five days, and weirdly it's also the only time I didn't see a single snake!

I was at your seminar at Airventure then flew over this island on the way home. Might be the stop on the way to Osh next year. Was the axe there or did you bring it?
@RichWellner4 ай бұрын
There is a maule and a couple axes there so you can process wood as necessary. I went there once after leaving Oshkosh. Just about broke my brain going from a place with hundreds of thousands of people and thousands of planes to an island that only had a single plane when I got there and they soon departed, leaving me the whole place to myself.
