Had to Leave... What Happened to this Now Abandoned Farmhouse?!!

The Urban Farm
The driveway was eroded, the weeds overgrown and the barn long since collapsed yet this farmhouse had only been abandoned for about a year. Across the street were a couple of buses, an RV and even a boat, with another house that looked as though it had been forgotten for decades. The bus was full of jars of preserves along with other farming supplies with the long abandoned house almost completely collapsed.
Back across the street, the main farmhouse had relatively new vinyl siding and a blue tarp on the roof in an attempt to try and keep the water out of a failing roof.
The property was expropriated and the owners were forced to leave after being compensated at fair market value, in order to make way for a new infrastructure project. The surrounding lands are in jeopardy as well, the region has an insatiable hunger to grow, with hundreds of thousands of people moving to the district on an annual basis.
But since the surrounding land is provincially protected there has been great opposition to the future housing project moving forward. Only time will tell how this particular project evolves over the years but there is one thing for certain, we need more housing to meet the demand and the infrastructure to support it.

You get a 10/10 for braving those weeds, James! While the home wasn't outrageous, there were interesting things on the property that made a look through it fun. And i don't know what was more heartbreaking to see--the beautiful abandoned bedroom furniture items, or that bottle of maple syrup! (I wonder how much the person paid for it when they bought it?? ). Very cool explore James! I think it's great that the owners used to sell produce and goods to the public. Too bad they closed. That maple syrup bottle you found was huge! They must have loved their pancakes! Thanks for posting this one. We really enjoyed it! 👍

This was an amazing find!!! I had to leave the premier unexpectedly but I watched it from the beginning when I got home 😊 I love farm houses. They all seem to have a story to tell. The stairs was simple but I really liked them!!! The bedroom suprised me!! Beautiful furniture!! I noticed they used a lot of the old wood for shelving ❤ it did have a small kitchen for a farm house. It was a happy one though 😊 The wood shavings? for insulation was a first for me. Thanks for going through all those weeds for us!! I wonder if they used the buses to haul their workers around the farm? Guess I will stop now😂. It was an amazing video!! You are the best!!! Be safe!! Pam❤️❤️

That's a good point about the buses...they have another farm around a 100km away so that would make a lot of sense! It's too bad you had to leave the premier early but glad you were still able to see the whole video. Really glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for your comments!!

Hi James, another awesome explore! Last time I commented here that I was waiting for Hurricane Helene to creep up to my front door. Well, she did and stopped just inches from the door. Now my husband and I are packing up to evacuate to Miami before Hurricane Milton pays a visit. Meanwhile, we still haven't caught up on repairs after Hurricane Ian. Mother nature says It's time to leave Florida. Greta girl, you were right!!

Man I would've guessed the house was from the 1980s until you pointed out the trim, doors and latches. You could see the age from the foundation and tree supports too. It's definitely been ruined! Hopefully something can be saved. Once again, cool explore

That's a very good point about the lock, I thought it looked out of place. My first thought was a squatter since the mattress was so dirty. I don't think Noah showed the magazines, I don't remember seeing posts of this house from any other explorers. Unless you have the link, I'd be curious to see his take?
