The latest Halloween franchise update is, a Halloween TV series based on the horror movies has been confirmed. Miramax has acquired the halloween tv rights in a tight race with A24 and Blumhouse. The new Michael Myers TV series will launch a cinematic universe, possibly in time for halloween 2024.

The Halloween cinematic universe has five timelines and changing character arcs. The 13 movies in the franchise, released between 1978 and 2022, all exist across these five timelines. According to a proposed reboot trilogy by Stefan Hutchinson, the Halloween multiverse exists.
Hutchinson's sprawling plans are detailed in the book Taking Shape II: The Lost Halloween Sequels. In broad strokes, the three chapters of this Halloween trilogy were dubbed Rise Of The Boogeyman, The Witching Hour and Fires Of Samhain. Rise Of The Boogeyman reimagines and recontextualizes familiar scenes and characters, and offers major surprises like the death of Laurie Strode. This version of Michael Myers seems to be from a netherworld dubbed "The Liminal."
While Halloween: Rise Of The Boogeyman was more of a traditional slasher movie, Witching Hour was a dark psychological thriller. The final outing Fires Of Samhain revealed Michael Myers ' supernatural plan, which involved a mass sacrifice by commanding an army of "Shapes." He would use his Liminal powers to influence the patients of a local asylum as pawns to kill the residents of Haddonfield and make "the hills run red," as Halloween 3 Season of the Witch villain Cochran once proclaimed.
There has been an increased premium put on well known titles amid audience fragmentation in the streaming era where it’s getting harder to launch a new horror movie franchise. IP of the caliber of Halloween rarely becomes available, which explains the big interest and fierce bidding for the TV rights, especially after the success of the Chucky tv series and the upcoming new Crystal Lake series coming to Peacock in 2024.
One thing that could complicate the future of the franchise is the Halloween Ends ending. While the David Gordon Green movie followed both Michael Myers and a potential new killer Corey Cunningham, both were dead by the time the movie ended. In fact, the movie made a point to have Laurie Strode put Michael's body into an industrial shredder, implying that the movie is the true ending to the long-term showdown between the iconic killer and final girl. The Halloween movies have continued beyond seemingly conclusive endings before, however.
In order for Halloween to expand into a proper cinematic universe connected to the TV show, it seems most likely that the story will be rebooted in some way with halloween reborn. Starting over with a younger Michael Myers allows more room for a continuing story to be told in the modern era.

Interesting concept. I am intrigued by the reports that there will be a Halloween series on Peacock (THAT would get me to buy a subscription to the service...I've loved Halloween, since my Mom asked me and my older sister to watch it with her, when it premiered on TV in 1981, the night before Halloween II was released in theaters). However, I still very much want to see Carpenter & Hill's original theatrical movie concept, where the holiday of Halloween is the subject, and it gets depicted in different, sometimes interrelated/interconnected, stories taking place in different parts of America and different periods. Would also LOVE for there to be an official original Halloween novel, to rival the novelizations from 1979 to 1988. Of course, if there were a couple of stories that were adjacent to Carpenter and Hill's classic Michael Myers story, that would be great. Good work. Happy Halloween.

But it's true, Michael's origin goes back centuries, and that is explicitly specified in The H40 Saga (officially the only canon of Halloween). Michael is NOT the killer, the killer is "The Shape", the ancestral malevolent entity that possessed Michael when he was a child. Michael is NOT evil, he is not guilty of anything, he is simply one more victim, a victim of "The Shape", an entity whose first host was the child Enda, and its first victim was The Princess Deirdre. The true origin of everything ☝🏻

Wilson, did you write the VO speech? It's really interesting and leaves lots of room for different story ideas. It's better than my idea, which is to take what we know about Michael and run with it: • He's an ambush predator who seems to hate most people. • He silently stalks his kills. By the time you notice him, he was already looking at you, then you're dead. • Ultimately, all he really wants to do is be home alone and stare out his favorite window.... Michael Meyers is a house cat.

I liked H 1978, II, IV, V, and VI PC the most. I would be the most tempted to do a "soft reboot" of H 1978. Michael is a mentor who can offer Faustian deals. He is a safe "behind the scenes" villain. He answers to a cult who infiltrates SEEMINGLY legitimate businesses. And because it's a death cult, we can have villains from everywhere, and we don't have to worry about offending anyone.

The solution is simple on how Michael can return, I’m surprised that nobody has thought of it. They had already claimed that the 2018 film was pretty much set in a different universe. They can start a new Tv Series in a different universe as well. One where Michael is Still Alive and the 1st 2 films Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills have happened, but not that garbage film Halloween Ends, as it never happened in the new Universe.
