The way that this builds up as you make your way closer and closer, the callback to the first game, the fact that there are several room layouts are literally the same as Tartarus rooms in H1 but you go through them backwards...truly amazing. Really gets you hype for the final fight.

I didn't realize until my second time through it, but a lot of the changes aren't from Chronos either. A lot of the changes to Tartarus was likely due to Zagreus and Hades actually upgrading the place

okay, I figured it out. During the vamp, It's simply a 4/4 groove at a slowish tempo. During the A Melody, (the Tartarus theme from Hades 1), The time switches to 8+8+5 in eighth notes. which can be read as two bars of 4/4 and then one bar of 5/8. After that, the B melody is alternating 4/4 and 7/4 bars. This song is fucking awesome

@@thuro431 The composer of the score switched to a strange odd number time signature which is known for not feeling complete and tidy. It's typically used to sort of blur the lines between bars, so instead of one-two-three-four, the four might feel like it disappears or got yoinked by the bar right after. In this context, it would make sense if the intention was to make it so that Melinoe was struggling to keep a rhythm and skip a beat in her step, so it's like she can't stay consistent and catch her breath. Imagine it like you're jogging, and you count "1-2" or "1-2-3-4", but then you trip so you stagger for a bit "1-2-3hup-2-3-1-2-3-4" and the "hup" is caused by you losing count, and so you sorta improvise and start counting again. Also helps make the music feel less boxy.
