Honestly, was kind of a mercy from cerberus that we didn't fight him there in hades 1. I struggle with cerberus more than chronos, personally. It's that damn double slam cerberus does that always hit me.

A big part of the vibes of this song comes from its more classical style, which really comes across through the organ and the canon at the beginning. Also, I’m pretty sure there’s a bit of Dies Irae in here, which makes sense, as out of all the places in the Underworld, death itself is most prominent in the Fields of Mourning.

A decent ranged build, or a strong burst damage melee one makes the fight go way smoother. Add some extra mobility - the Wolf Howl hex is my top choice for that - and dodging the ridiculously huge attacks is no longer nearly as troublesome.

I would argue to the contrary. Based on the short moment when we see Cerberus rushing to Hades aid in the first game, i think Cerberus here only fights with one active head, while the rest are mourning. Remember he basically stormed through Hades arena once and set most of the room aflame for two seconds. I think the fact that only one head is actively attacking and he is half-buried makes him so slow and easy to dodge.

​@@rodriguito296 diegetically, the only martial training zagreus has is that he has received from achilles, the shade of a mortal, and he fights out of the necessity to meet his birthmother, only becoming truly experienced in martial combat with the likes of himself through the experience of repeatedly trying to escape over and over. by contrast, melinoë has been training her entire life under the watch of nemesis and hekate with the express intent of becoming versed enough in both magic and battle to singlehandedly slay a titan. within the fictional narrative the games are portraying, mel is much more prepared for actual battle than zag is: she's been raised in war, after all

Thank all the gods we never had to fight him in the first game What the actual hell are those attacks, I swear, Chronos is less of a threat than this abomination of poorly telegrafed attacks with the hitboxes so big it fits the whole screen and then some. At least Chronos have only one stupid move with that whirlwind scythe, but not only the good boy (past tense) have most of them on an instant cast, he also can combo them into one another, grandpa at least needs some setups. AND his hp bar, it feels like I'm trying to destroy a bunker with a spoon. If I can kill the dog without wasting a DD, I know for sure that the run is over and I win.

The first 2 bosses condition you NOT to dodge into them, but Cerny is the opposite. You want to dodge directly into him for most of his attacks. If you try to dodge and circle around with sprint the extended hotboxes will nail you a lot of the time. "Dodge directly through the doggy and your run will be less dodgy. "

His hitbox is so big you can hit him way outside his range. And you can safely stay clear of his attacks by standing behind him. Works the exact same for Hecate and Chronos. Dodge into and behind them.
