Little pedantic correction that *that* wasn't the original tale. That was only the version the Roman Poet Ovid did, who liked to portray the gods as even more petty and horrible than they already are. In the original tales Medusa was always like that and not a former priestess cursed by Minerva/Athena for losing her virginity against her will by Neptune/Poseidon

The story @thegrouchization is referencing is Ovid's version of the story, in which Neptune (Using Latin names, since Ovid is a Roman poet) raped a priestess of Minerva in her temple. Minerva has an aspect of her that she also represents virginity, so a priestess devoted to her losing her virginity is already bad, however doing so within a temple dedicated to Minerva? That's something that infuriated Minerva to such a level that she cursed said priestess with a hideous monstrous form.

I think it's 6 nectar and 10 ambrosia to hit max affinity. Then it took a few escape attempts for the conversation to occur. The escape attempts seem to varie as some people say it occurred straight away and others had to wait five or six attempts. Hopefully it will trigger soon for you, though!

While it is a very sweet dialog thing they set up and it really is a good example of two characters handling rejection on both sides of things. Dusa with how to gently reject someone and Zag on how to accept rejection and the person's choice with grace, and luckily still keep a friendship. But man...I wanted to romance her, and not for any sinful reasons you buggers. I think she'd just be a lovely partner to talk with and help brighten up your day, and I bet she'd be adorable to give a hug or cuddle to. Ah well.

So you could either read that as she's not related to them, or she actually is and Hades is covering it up, which he would probably do to give her a clean start.

Are you sure she’s aroace? I’m not saying this to discredit anyone who is aroace or to force my own thoughts on Dusa, she’s just a fictional character first of all and if she doesn’t find Zagreus attractive intimately or romantically then it’s so cool that Zag respects that. There’s even a scene where zag and Dusa on this path say they love each other, but not romantically (they didn’t outright say ‘but not romantically’ but it was the impression I got lol) so if she is aroace it’s a nice way to show that it’s not like they can’t care deeply for someone, they just don’t care for romance and intimacy, right? But does that make her aroace as a whole? Like, she probably is for the time being since she’s so focused on her career, but all we’ve seen is her attitude to Zagreus.

She'll later say that she accidentally cracked a bottle and decided to drink it. She said it was the best thing ever. Also it turns out it wasn't as much of a rejection as this scene let on. When the topic of the different types of loves was brought up and the idea asked if she is in love with anyone else, Dusa confesses that she loved Zagreus and Zagreus alone, even if it wasnt the romantic one of the 7 Greek love types, and she'd been waiting a long, long time to confess to him. While an asexual romantic friendship is an unusual combo, I can understand that she's in an unusual position due to being just a head with no body.

Plus Platonic or aromantic implies that Dusa has no romantic inclinations towards Zagreus, which countless scenes, and finally the real end to this convo chain not shown in this video, showes otherwise. She wants to stay best friends cause that's the only thing she feels capable of. Dusa has not denied having romantic feelings for Zag to Megura, and she outright confesses that if she were mentally and physically capable of not being asexual, (being a head for years will do things to you), that the only person she would want to be in a romantic relationship with is Zagreus. That isn't something you confess to simply your 'best friend', but her situation is unusual and since she's stuck in a huge predicament, it's totally fair for her to say. Better admit it then keep hiding it afterall.

@@RedCornix that's not really how it works. i think, because dusa works directly in the house it'd be easier to abuse that dynamic. additionally, she's definitely not meg when it comes to defending herself, if for some reason she had to. besides, meg isn't a maid. she works outside of the house and doesn't ever work directly under zagreus in-game. dusa, on the other hand, is a "lowly" maid who idealized zagreus from the beginning and could be easily influenced by him. zag's a good boy so he wouldn't ever take advantage of someone, but a bad relationship could jeopardize her career in the house, a relationship she would be inclinced to agree to in theory because he is both a) her crush and b) her superior with a lot of influence who could theoreotically make her job a lot easier. just as he could make it easier, he could make it a lot harder, too.

So, I've been trying to get to this part of the Dusa romance, but I'm still stuck on the first Nectar hearts. I did all that I was supposed to (fix up Cerebus's damage to the lounge and buy some new Lounge stuff) but I can't unlock the romance part of the Dusa relationship. I'm worried that since I fixed the damage immediately, before talking with Dusa about fixing the lounge that might've caused the issue. Is that the problem? And if it is, is there any other way to romance her?

I don't believe so. I did the same (fixing things before realising their significance), and the various characters were fine with it - you get a reward - and then the story processes. BUT the storylines are very random when they kick in and progress. For example, for Achilles, once I found his lover, it took a good ten runs before Achilles would talk to me about Patroclus. Apologies I could not be of any more help, but hopefully, if someone knows any different (or specific triggers), they'll be able to assist in the comments. 😁

I haven’t played this game and I’m only vaguely familiar with the characters besides Zagreus, Hades and Persephone, but less than TWO MINUTES into this video and Dusa has taken Persephone’s place as my favorite character!
