Lillias White is amazing! She voiced Calliope, one of the Muses, in Disney's Hercules over 20 years ago, and now she's playing Hermes. His line, "His mama (Orpheus's) was a friend of mine!" comes full circle, because Calliope is the mother of Orpheus in Greek mythology.

Really worth seeing in person, Video cannot capture what it"s like to be in the audience and become part of the set with the lighting effects. One does not need to be a regular theater goer to see why they won a Tony for lighting.

Just saw the matinee yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised Patrick Page was back. Lilias White took me to church. . The show was amazing. Nothing can capture the feel of being there. The cast was perfect. I highly recommend seeing it.

I find it insane that Reeve Carney went from a flopped Spider Man musical to a thriving Hadestown. it just goes to show, you can do bigger and better things even if you have a flopped project from earlier on.

I thought they sounded really weak and just a bit flat in this video. Must have been a vocally rough day for him. He's usually much stronger. The ending also didn't have the same power he usually delivers

Saw Hadestown in July when Patrick Page was out, but Tom Hewitt was excellent too! The show was so incredible, I sat front row and one of the lamps that swing out here stopped right above my head and it made me want to just live in that chair at Walter Kerr forever. So happy for Lillias White as the new Hermes and even more excited to go back and see Hadestown again and again and again

Reeve Carney has a beautiful voice, but why can’t they just turn up the volume on his mic? His performance sounds weaker than everyone else’s just because he’s so quiet, but with a mic there’s no need at all. Just make him louder!

@@wuttatota148 I read a comment on the Guardian's review of the London production in which someone commented that Reeve sounded quiet in the first half, but had a lot more 'oomph' in the second - and that they 'didn't know what he'd spent the interval doing'. I suspect he was having a word with the sound engineers!

They asked Jordan Dobson to play the role again in March because Reeve was out again, and on his first day back, he got hit in the head by one of the lanterns, and he forgot to shake Hades' hand in Wait for Me II. So, he screwed up both Wait for Me's lol.

oh man . . . . while i do not think reeve is the best singer or actor on broadway (though he is tied for the hottest with derek klena), he is thousands of times better than the orpheus on tour right now. that guy is absolutely horrendous, and watching this makes me even sadder than i was that i had to get that guy and not reeve.

hm . . . . lillias white's delivery is much less intense than andre de shields (which is not a good thing, in my opinion). does anyone that has seen the tour know if the choreography with the lights is included? that part is just brilliant!

Yes. Just no elevator. That box the drummer sits in on Broadway instead have doors that opens vertically that's used as entrances and exits. So instead of entering and exiting at the center of the stage, they would go to the back instead.

I saw the show with her. I don't really like that she comes off as more of a caring parent than a messenger of the gods... From giving Eurydice a hug before Road to Hell to calling Orpheus "baby" in Epic III, she doesn't give off the divine energy Andre did, or the coolness and commanding tone that T Oliver Reid had. Her voice is incredible though, let's see how she grows in the role.

Lillias has an amazing voice, but the way she was saying/singing some of the words just seemed so flat to me. not in the music terms sense, just in the way that her tone was the exact same on every word she said
