I saw most of the original cast except with Jewelle as Persephone earlier this year and I was the most impressed with her! Her voice is huge! It just fills the theater and in every one of her spotlight numbers she puts on a show and keeps the audience into it

I saw the original broadway cast except Amber had left and so had Yvette, I had Lana Gordon as Persephone, and the first fate was Jessie Shelton who was in the off-broadway cast 😊 I loved Jewelle as the contralto fate though, she was absolutely perfect!

I won't lie. First clip of Persephone i wasn't impressed. Felt like maybe i was too attached to Amber's portrayal. Like maybe Jewelle was best as one of the fates with her amazing depth. But holy schmoly Way down Hadestown hit me like a Freight train. Good Gods that was amazing. So pure, so powerful and expressive. I wonder if they might consider doing another album with Jewelle and Lilias in these roles because this also feels like THE perfect Hermes. Literally everything I have been missing from Hermes since the original concept album is right here.

i flew from the UK to NYC with the main purpose of seeing Hadestown and this was the cast I saw. so incredibly grateful that it was - all the cast was amazing but my god lilias was so so perfect as hermes

I saw most of the OBC and also the touring cast and both times it was incredible! Each actor brought something so special to the role. And I really feel that this is a story you can enjoy again and again with new interpretations.

I saw Jewelle, Eva and Reeve on Broadway and my god they were just BREATHTAKING performers! Eva’s voice made me feel like I was in another world and Jewelle had so much energy. Also Reeve really is just such a peak depiction of Orpheus it was all so excellent. I unfortunately missed Patrick because he was out for two week right when I was in NY :,(( but Tom made a powerful Hades as well, I just really wanted to hear Patrick’s amazing bass cause I’ve been a fan since I heard him in Hunchback

We saw this cast ( no Jewelle but the understudy was excellent) and were just blown away. We saw the tour last night and we loved it as well. It’s become one of our favorites.

@@linkzelda8610 there was supposed to be a pro shot but they couldn't negotiate cast salaries so it never came to be. Word was some of the cast members wanted Hamilton pro shot level pay and the producers couldn't meet that

It isn't confirmed unfortunately, but with the clips they have been posting on their Instagram it seems like they are holding onto one

I imagine if there was a pro shoot it would be of the OBC, there are similarly professional filmed clips of them from earlier. This I imagine is just footage taken for promotional and archival purposes, which wouldn’t be legally allowed to be distributed in its entirety. Just like if a full professional shoot was taken of the show it wouldn’t be used for the same purposes as other footage, as it would have been filmed under different contractual obligations.

Probably not, they usually only film little parts for promo, making a full proshot is really expensive

I wish they'd get a deep voiced actor to play Hermes, because even now, the best rendition of Hermes I've heard was from the live recording, where he came off as playful, but the deep voice gave him a Godly sound. Not sure how I feel about this version of Persephone, and no one can top Patrick for Hades.
