Hi, thank you. I want to create a sense of journey, where trains have real stops and destinations, hence so many places miles apart, next to each other on the layout, separated by trees etc.

Hadfield has come out absolutely brilliant. I've spent this morning catching up on your videos, and it has been time well spent. I've always liked the way your videos show a lot of progress, so it's been an enjoyable morning. Well worth it to see the final completed project. Take care John. Lee

Hi, The overlap that you have bluetacked rather than glued. Might I suggest clear silicone sealant for that job rather than bluetack. It holds better and still comes of very easily.

Good morning John! Yes, I'm very disappointed that the station information board doesn't work! Must try harder! Lol! Hadfield seems to have come together incredibly quickly, and once again I'm in awe of your modelling techniques and eye for detail! I think the way you've blended the station into its surroundings, including the backscene is terrific! Can't wait to see how the water pour goes as I've been looking forward to it since you mentioned it! Good luck with it! All the best, Ian.

Lol, I called the engineers a week and a half ago, and they said because the trains were only hourly, the poor lil plastic peeps will have to cope. I might get a refund, as it I cost £80k for what 3p worth of plastic and less than a penny of ink. Unreal isn't it? I know... lol.

Thank you for your kind comments. Although the Hadfield/ depot scene appears complete, I do need to add a few things. The biggest and most time consuming is OHLE gantries. I thought I was nearly done, but it’s just dawned on me. Should only take a few days and water pour will definitely be done next. Has to be, can’t afford to miss the warm weather lol. I’ve got some tiny spirit levels coming, which will help level the mill. (Can’t do anything about river under Goytcliffe viaduct though. Time will tell

Another amazing scene, John! The initial eye level shot of Hadfield station blew me away, I felt I was actually there! Agree with your ideas of further rural scenes gradually blending into urban approaching Piccadilly. Finally, I would complete the scenic work in front of Hadfield before starting the next station project. The overall shot proves what a masterpiece you are creating, congratulations! Cheers, Karl

Thanks Karl, so glad you like it. Yes definitely complete the area in front of Hadfield, Ive already done a fair bit, working on OHLE gantries. Still a reasonable amount to do, but I do need to get the water pours done during the hols during warm weather.

Dear John, beautiful work on Hadfield and surroundings! Never mind the overlap on the back scene, when it’s more convenient to have ‘m removable makes an excellent choice as far as I’m concerned as a humble viewer. Love the transition from Hadfield towards the train shed. Do think the next ‘triangle’ between the tracks can use some structures, maybe just a dilapidated signal box. Cheerio
@piccadillymodelrailways4 ай бұрын
Hi Vincent, not sure what you are suggesting in the first part of your comment, could you please explain. Thanks
@vincenthuying984 ай бұрын
@@piccadillymodelrailways was referring to your comment on the backdrop overlap. You said you’ve mounted the backdrop extension with blue tack. Henceforth the overlap is still visible. The specific reason you gave for using the blue tack is to keep the backdrop removable. I gathered for possible maintenance reasons. That to me is a perfect reason to keep the specific overlap visible. Of course taking into consideration I indeed understood you correctly! Cheerio

Thank you so much. Yes I agree that will be a bit of a milestone. Quite a while away though, Im afraid as the track is all up and Hadfield is a bit of a island. I want to get the 2 river pours done and we can then see how much time is left on the school hols. Thank you for watching and commenting.

That is a very successful piece of landscaping. The difference it makes when you can get some scenery on always surprises me - not sure why having done it so much now. I really like the transition around the far corner and the painted backscene blends in very well. Personally I would carry on adding scenery around before you start Glossop. It will make sure that the piece between Hadfield and Glossop flows naturally. Amazing what the summer holidays can allow one to achieve. Stephen
@piccadillymodelrailways4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Stephen. Seeing Hadfield sit apart from the rest of the layout made me really think about the gaps. The carriage shed area still remains incomplete, but it is kind of hidden, but the Piccadilly station approach and the link line to Glossop is right in the forefront of the layout.

Superb bit of modelling John. The station is a fantastic build - definitely captured the real Hadfield. I do like the 3D printed retaining wall with its curved features. I'd finish those small bare areas before tackling the last station. Great bit of work. Cheers Euan

@@piccadillymodelrailways I'd forgotten I'd sent in the clip - so when I heard Zoe say my name........ John, you always get your perspectives right. This makes for great scenes, which really lead the eye. Quite often, the derelict areas in front of service buildings like the carriage shed are rosebay willowherb jungles dotted with derelict abandoned bits. Often an overall beige straw area to contrast with all the green. Nothing high. Just a thought. You've created another atmospheric scene out of a "problem" corner. Regards, Stephen.
@piccadillymodelrailways4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Stephen, we are very much on the same page with the area in front of the carriage shed. Ive ballasted the area with very sparing patches of grass, a few bushes and shrubs, not much and very low. I have a container and an abandoned narrow boat with rusted rail scraps, few relay cabinets. I am looking for more scrap, but time will tell what I can find. If you have any thoughts, Id be grateful to receive them.
The quality of your work and your enthusiasm and productivy are inspiring. I always look forward to your videos, thank you for posting them.
