Hadrian's Wall (Day 2 - Sycamore Gap)

Day 2 of our Hadrian's Wall mini-adventure. The day starts with a look around the outside of The Boe Rigg (our evening accommodation), then on to The Sill (a new visitor centre looking at the landscape in Northumberland), and then finally I get to walk from Steel Rigg car park to Sycamore Gap.
Sycamore Gap is the most photographed spot in the whole of Northumberland National Park. It's easy to see why. The sycamore tree was also made famous when it appeared in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner & Morgan Freeman - hence why I started singing Robin Hood when I arrived at the tree (albeit the theme tune in that movie was Everything I do, I do it for you, by Bryan Adams.

What a lovely video!! Actually it brought a year to my eye when I remember going on walking holidays before my stroke. I still have my walking boots as I can't bear to part with them. I am so lucky to have people like you in my KZbin community who can show me such wonderful places. Another great vid of the beautiful Hadrian's wall. Yes doo many tourist come to picture the tree. The clip in the film is only short really but they were there filming for about 6 weeks. My friend was moving there kit about on his quad for £50 a day.. lovely area.. the will used to be called the once brewed Youth hostel with twice brewed pub up road.. atb Lee
