Immediately this game made me think of Oxygen Not Included, we just switched POV. In there your duplicants (minions who do your orders) have to keep power on by running on a wheel, or supplying generators, but the power will slowly deplete, meanwhile they also have to go produce materials, fly rockets, feed critters, build stuff, etc. You as the player manage their priorities and give task orders, trying to balance them getting stuff done, while also taking care of their needs (food, stress, sickness, etc.). There is some incremental game DNA in that game too, as you expand your colony and have to scale production of everything, make better food and better materials, definitely recommend checking it out!

I saw this video and decided to try this game out for myself first. When I saw how much resources it took to make a crankbot/the fact they break, and how shitty there were... I was pissed lol. I also quickly got tired of holding down the crank so I focused on crank and crankbot efficiency upgrades and was happy when they could finally keep up. Strange thing I noticed, I don't really see a point in increasing how many crankbots can operate at once. With just three or so operating they were pretty much keeping the crank maxed out.
@TheGrayFae14 күн бұрын
I enjoyed the concept, so I played it for a bit longer. Spoilers below if you don't want to see them, but I will intentionally try to keep them vague. The game eventually goes towards space exploration. You can move between planets and there's some differences between them. You can also further optimize your production to do things almost fully automatically. Eventually you can do a bit of exploration with the map and uncover some secrets. There's some end-game secret bit that I've almost gotten to that seems to be only lore and a maaaaaaaassive resource drain. Personally, I don't know how well the rest of it will make for a video or interactions. It's entertaining enough, but it does get to be repetitive as you go. My biggest complaint is that upgrades to my scanner doesn't seem to actually make things appear any faster, so it's hard to do any kind of combat farming. But true to the idle-game nature, it's really hard for the numbers to ever go down in a meaningful way, so you'll always be able to make progress.
@TheGrayFae13 күн бұрын
I finished it today though and the ending is neat. Nothing mindblowing, but a solid way to wrap it up and make it feel complete. I'm still convinced that the Scanner is bugged or something though, but you can work around it. If anyone else wants to try and finish it, I highly recommend just skipping around to planets with Low hostiles to immediately fight the base once you're strong enough. Much better than trying to wait forever to scan enough enemies.

having played this for an hour or so myself now.. it pays to research in excess batteries, you can get much higher energy reserves and makes it much easier to craft craftbots. You can also increase your scrap craft amount to infinite so it never stops.. right now I have scrap to 300 max with infinite craft, 40 batteries, 25 crankbots and antimatter. You can play this manually but after I had about 5 bots, I could adjust my research and never have to touch it.. by the time you get 10 it can crank faster than you can.. the only downside is they break down and cost scrap and batteries to replace.. but they pay for themselves many times over.

@ After about 20 minutes of hard tedium I was ready for automation. When it was clear that the automation wasn't helpful and was a trap, I just quit instead of upgrading it and grinding for another X time until it would be actually helpful. It's also tough because it's not like the game will tell you when the bots become actually helpful. Normally automation is immediately helpful when it unlocks in games like this.
@pumbaa66714 күн бұрын
@@paulvanpraag That's a lot of words for someone who didn't understand how to beat the game. Personally I fully automated my Power generation in 1 or 2 hours. Without tedious Power grinding, due to correctly upgrading the Crank and the Batteries.
@khheroxcn14 күн бұрын
i mean id like more lol it did say battery research would lead to another power source beside the crank maybe you upgrade power use to fast trying to have fast progression speed and item generation together to soon before you had good bots like it seems at low levels they just make you turn the crank better thus more power but dont do anything if you arent working but maybe if they get stronger they can generate power themselves supplementing the next power source or maybe all these options shouldnt be before you had a new power source maybe your stretching yourself to thin trying to hit each low hanging fruit and getting so many options and not progressing the basics enough to manage them yet
