Good catch on finding the solenoid and glow plugs were on the same circuit and robbing power to the solenoid. Also great repair on the alternator. Lots of folks would give up with regulator parts no longer available.

I just bought a Yanmar 155D and the charging system hasn't worked on it through two previous owners. This gives me inspiration to dig into it to fix it. Did you have a link to the regulator you used? I may not need one but like the idea of having a replacable option.
