Hagen, ive been burning through all your videos (along with every other youtube cat guy) and you are without a doubt, the best at teaching techniques. Ive been fishing my whole life and I have still learned a pile of new stuff from your vids and that is what its all about. Just wanted to say that I really appreciate the time you take in making these videos. Thanks man.

I ran across a battery powered four by eight led light that has the amber lense on it. It rarely attracts bugs and puts out plenty of light in the boat. White lights will attract bugs from miles away. It might not be legal but I got to where I'd put a red dixie cup over my stern light while anchored to keep the bugs down some.

Use this sinker type up in the PNW, for fishing salmon and steelhead in creeks and rivers. Surgical rubber tubing, 3-way swivel and some braid to fasten the tubing to the three-way. Slip the lead up into the tubing. The lead may pull loose, but you can cut lead to size to replace it quickly, without having to retie everything. Back in action. Our rivers and creeks here get a lot of wood in them.

The snell is where it’s at. I’ve never had one slip anyway, but I like to tie a small overhand knot in the tag end just to make sure it doesn’t. Free insurance 👍🏼
