Fancy boats are nice sometimes, but sometimes something simple is really nice as well. Your boat is a great example of a simple boat with some minor upgrades.

Neat! I'm a Pacific Northwesterner myself but I can use a lot of these fixes easily on my Starcrafter SuperSport16. Especially really liked the conduit for the wires. I put down the Harbor Freight truck bed liner on my ½" ply floor which was a huge mistake! Black floor in a boat where the summer temps can easily hit 107°, not very foot friendly. Plus my paint job didn't last very well. Thanks for the tips!

Nothing like going out on the water, for the first time, in your very own boat. You listen closely to the engine and feel the way she moves and satisfaction pounds in your chest. I'd keep that boat. I wish I had kept mine.

I really like this set up I have to say I like the tiller handle and not having a console and have the fish finder off to the side compact and efficient. It just seem ideal with a good trolling motor and fish finder what more does a guy need.

Great website I subscribed. I love the way you did your boat. My problem is my 14ft Jon boat is unstable side to side. I do not think those pods you have would help my problem. I must find a fix, but have not seen anything yet I like. If you have a Idea, please give your advice.😊
@hagengrubbsfishingАй бұрын
Appreciate it, I agree that the pods don’t help much with side to side stability. I’ve have heard a few people making or buying outriggers for the sides of jon boats and people say it helps but it seems like they might get in the way some but maybe not. Thank you for watching.

Gute Arbeit. Peter

Nice vid man. I've got a Tracker Topper 1542. I plan on ripping out the bench seat this winter. Only thing is it's got a live well I never use right in the middle so I'm gonna have to figure that out. Might just plug it up and fill it in with some epoxy. But it's a great little light weight boat and my little 15hp Yamaha pushes me 27mph. Of course when I carry two other people and all the gear and coolers that top speed slows down to about between 20-22mph. But I really need room to move around in it. Those bench seats are so wide it just eats up all the room and it's pretty uncomfortable to fish out of with more than two people.

I have the same exact boat and I have a 9.9 hp honda boat motor and it's hard to take out to the river because when I give it throttle the front goes almost straight up and you can't see to take it out. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to stop that?
@hagengrubbsfishing4 жыл бұрын
The float pods would probably help it plain out but they are pricey. I’m not sure if a hydrofoil would help on a motor that size but it would definitely be worth looking into. Thanks for watching
@hagengrubbsfishing4 жыл бұрын
I have a friend with the same size boat with a 9.9 and he plains out fine and runs around 20mph so I’m not sure what’s going on. Have you tried adjusting the trim pin?
@Bowhunter884 жыл бұрын
Adjust the trim pin usually senond hole from the bottom and get a hydrofoil and make sure cavitation plate is level with the bottom of the boat. My 83 johnson 9.9gets me 24 in my 1436
@RiverRat-21124 жыл бұрын
The least expensive thing you can try is shifting some of your weight forward.-- battery, fuel, cooler, gear. A mate of mine has a 14ft mirrocraft with a 9.8 and while he doesn't have that problem we can add, or subtract, 1.5 mph top speed just by were we place our gear and cooler. Small boats are sensitive to small changes.
@justcausecatfishing92784 жыл бұрын
I thought I could put like a casting deck on the front and put all my batteries and all my gear up toward the front and try to see if that'll help thanks for everyone's comments

Hey nice boat, I'm interested in the two floats on the back. Did a company make them. You said you tig welded them in, so are they sealed boxes? Also do they run flush with the bottom of the boat? You should do a quick video on just those. I just got a 15 foot 1960-1970s boat that im putting alot of work into.
@hagengrubbsfishing3 жыл бұрын
They are sold by a company called beaver tail and they are a sealed box with a flange that can be welded or riveted on. I can’t remember the exact angles that I set them at but I do remember calling and giving the company the dimensions of the transom and the angle so they could build them to my boat. They make a big difference and I recommend them. Thanks for watching
