@arekb5951 I've been saying it for years to people who prefer big heavy machines that go fast when you mash the throttle on the motorway like saloons or SUVs, it's okay to like that but that's not proper driving enjoyment... that's just a small part of the driving experience.

Going through a sudden change in weather conditions on a mountain road and experiencing drops in temperature around you is one of those things you don't even know about until you drive in the mountains with the top down. You can actually feel different pockets of atmosphere changing around you on a winding road, where sudden gusts of chilly air wash over you as you head downhill in a tree covered valley, only to crest a summit moments later with clear and sunny skies above. I imagine it's what birds experience in flight and it's about as close as you can get to that feeling on four wheels, and it's something you won't experience in a car with a fixed roof no matter how many of the windows you roll down in an attempt to pretend it's a convertible. He didn't mention the details; the suspension upgrade is the same I had fitted on my MX-5 nd by BBR last month. - Koni Sport adjustable dampers, but revalved by BBR - BBR spec progressive lowering springs - BBR specific geometry setup I've done 300 miles since the upgrade, giving the new components time to settle and bed in... Thoughts... - just one negative; the low speed ride and bump absorption is a bit firm, perhaps this will settle better as it all beds in more, though this is still the case after 300 miles. HOWEVER, I still have yet to try backing off the damper setting from the current medium, I hope and think setting it to soft will iron out this gripe - but in all other ways; mid and high speed ride/absorption, cornering flatness, initial and mid-corner turn-in response and holding are just greatly improved. In particular I'm floored by how it behaves when imputing more lock to tighten the line still further mid-corner when pushing on; it just obeys and tucks right in beautifully, where before the rear tyres would scrub and push wide ---------- Assuming my upcoming damper adjustment to softer gets rid of that firmness without compromising the positives, I think this is a great upgrade. As it stands, the firm low speed ride is tolerable and the overall net improvements are fantastic.

As a weekend canyon carver in Los Angeles, my Miata gets driven fairly quickly through the turns . Outside of modifying the suspension and fitting the car with wider wheels and stickier tires you really don’t need more power though it can help but could get you trouble too. They are finally supercharging ND2 in America. The problem is the smaller fuel injectors causing not enough fuel to get to the combustion chamber when it's supercharged. It means they've had to program the rev limit back to 7000rpm instead of the ND2 standard 7500rpm. Still it's a big jump in hp to supercharge.

If I didn’t have the A110, I’d have a BBR NC MX-5 with a built engine. Love what BBR do.

Great video, nice to have some attention on smaller, less powerful cars. Also, where is this road?! 😍

The Ohlins R&Ts are excellent on the Miata. A friend has an ND with that setup and I have had the honor of driving it before and after the change. Excellent upgrade, as Ohlins normally are.

What a wonderful Video! Thank you very much for the input and those beautiful landscape shots. They're the same thoughts I got the last 2 years. I bought a Opel Speedster 2.2 with a after market exhaust and open Air filter. Good loudness, some rare real small crackles when you lift the gas at certain revs AND "low-ish" power compared to other sport's cars. But the beautiful thing is: you can rev it out legally on normal streets. In the Forests, on great back roads. It's just so much fun. It seems to be louder than it is fast, but that's what makes it so great - because it feels also faster than you really are. The pure feeling through the suspension... Ah, now I want to drive again. But it's raining😮💨 What I wanted to say: numbers doesn't matter. The feeling, driving the car, matters! Even 7s to 100kph can feel so orgasmic just by the sound and the rattles throughout the chassis. That's what I like about magazines like Hagerty and Carfection. They teach you to not forget about the importance of the FEELING while driving. You don't have to drive a 400.000€ McLaren 720s. You can have even more FUN with a wayyyyy cheaper car - I had more fun with a 22.500€ car. Just be open an explore your feeling while driving different cars. Have a great time!

No supercharger whine.. That's half the fun of owning a supercharger.. my last car of 23yrs was a MK4 VW Golf with Neuspeed, the sound was amazing. And after suspension mods handled very well and very communicative. I have an ND2 now and I agree, less stress when driving. It's a really good car for sure!

I own a ND1, since a few years ago. When i bought it, i didnt have a car, and i thought in selling it in a few years (about now) because they dont really depreciate. However i decided to keep it forever, the feeling of driving in a twisty road, with roof open is great, i dont need to go on extreme speeds to enjoy playing with it, it looks fantastic, and its really cheap to maintain. The only problem is if will be able to get in and out when i age, but hell, i love the car, and i dont need more power

At 7:05 you said you can get an ND1 for 13000 quid. In the U.S at least you can’t find them for under $20,000

ND2s also cost the same brand new or couple years old with 20k miles on them

Had a ‘92 MM, complete with Sebring supercharger. Lots of power, but got squirrelly above 90mph; there’s literally nothing sticking older MM’s to the pavement at higher speeds….they want to fly!

Interesting setup and not to pricey either if you can afford new things. Driven both supercharged and turbo MX5's older not new models and both feel like big go-karts that are tail happy
